IOwnCalculus posted:Think we'll see him for a 500-only entry, or does that ride preclude that even? IMSA's 2020 schedule runs May 1-3rd at Mid Ohio, and May 29-30th at Belle Isle, so it's at least mathematically possible for Bourdais to run the 500. He's one of my favorites and this news is pretty disappointing, especially after what happened to Hinchcliffe.

Bourdais and Barbosa could be a potent combo if JDC can provide solid engineering and mechanical backing (they were a little iffy last year)

Spaced God posted:What did he say? I missed that entirely Just that he was uncomfortable after his big wreck and was visibly/audibly spooked when they started trimming out at Indy the last few years. Also was really unhappy at Pocono basically all of the time, and said some stuff about how he would be ok with no super speedways at all. He never really loved the ovals, and I think his wreck and losing Justin and stuff, that turned to real dislike. https://twitter.com/BourdaisOnTrack/status/1198029206812332032 Cygni fucked around with this message at 01:22 on Nov 23, 2019 |

Sad to see Seabass go, but he's getting up toward "time for sports cars" age regardless, so it's not like many years are getting cut from his open wheel career.

Hinch is absolutely winding up in Bourdais' old seat, isn't he ugh. such a strange trade-off there. glad it kind of shores up the JDC Cadillac for IMSA, since the DPi car count is looking a bit slim, but of the people leaving IndyCar this year I absolutely didn't think Seb was one of them. [edit] if Ganassi finds a way to get a sports car program together I would imagine Seb gets a look there, or with the Peugeot team in a couple years for WEC. Or for IndyCar on a road course-only role in the future? Hm.

This is McLaren's fault somehow. The Bourdais thing, not the Laguna Seca thing. ...well, maybe that too, who knows? Edit: If Honda yanked the free engines to pressure Coyne to put Hinch in the seat then it actually is McLaren's fault, lol
