Another big mother-daughter one is Kyoko Kimura’s retirement show which a pair of matches with her and Hana in it. First was the two of them teaming with ISAO (some MMA dude I think) vs what I’ve called TEAM loving SCARY (Meiko Satomura, Aja Kong and Minoru Suzuki); and then after that Kyoko’s actual farewell match was against Hana. They teamed together before but that was the biggest stage the two had.

I got two random little questions: 1. What is Raven's accent? I know it's just his regular real life accent, I just don't know what it is and it's so thick I always notice it. 2. How legitimately impressive are power moves? Think the hanging vertical suplex or press slam. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TvytrosXRI How much of this is the strength of the lifter and how much is just the other wrestler jumping or holding themselves up?

Diablo Velasco is the only one. There are others, but they were champions in their own right, like Kowalski. ...but Matsuda definitely trained guys of the same caliber as Velasco, so it's a worthy argument. Halloween Jack fucked around with this message at 17:12 on Nov 27, 2019 |

What does everyone think the Wrestlemania main event for 2020 will be? Can anybody predict the main event of night 2 at Wrestle Kingdom? We could theoretically have Okada v White, Okada v Naito, Ibushi v White, Ibushi v Naito.

NikkolasKing posted:2. How legitimately impressive are power moves? Think the hanging vertical suplex or press slam. Hanging vertical isn't that hard just takes good core strength from both parties(if both are relatively the same size.) Press Slam is much harder and depends on how it's set up, if the guy can jump into it and you got a very good push press it can be done. In that video Crush straight up OHP's undertaker who barely helping him at all so yeah that's loving impressive.

Naito v Okada is by far the biggest match they have to move tickets. They have protected it to an extreme degree going a whole two years without running it. Its the most likely match up.

Unless people are just assuming that it's Okada/Naito.

Wrestlemania will either be Rollins vs Punk and Bray vs Roman or Rollins vs Reigns and Brock vs Cain 2. Maybe Rousey vs Becky again too.

A: People will assume that and B: Walk-ups are way more common in Japan, so there could easily still be a few thousand cheap seats left for Sunday by the time the Saturday show ends.

NikkolasKing posted:I got two random little questions: It's all relative to the person taking it generally so if the person you're lifting is good at jumping and posting it'll be easier and if you are super strong you can also make up for it pretty easily. I have a pretty weak upper body/core at the moment and I can pump handle slam/bodyslam/verical suplex small people but I couldn't do any of those to someone who can't jump for poo poo. technique for alot of these is also very important, which is why super old wrestlers can still do alot of power moves.

Is Waltman actually bigger than Michaels, especially in their prime? He was always thought of as the little guy of the group but I'm not so sure. Nash has apparently insisted that Shawn was over 6 feet tall, possibly to justify his heightism for being a star, but nobody else seems to believe that.

i'm trying to find a promo where Chris Jericho called someone "Bublelu Glanah" in a mumbled voice. the only thing i can find on google is a post that i myself made in 2016 referencing it after Jericho did the Jimmin Marvin-Luder promo. i don't know how to spell Bublelu Glanah and it's very hard to search for it online. does anyone else remember this promo. i think Jericho is introducing someone and says they were trained by Bublelu Glanah.

spongeh posted:The Rey and Dominic stuff had me thinking, what were the biggest matches (McMahon family aside) that featured parent vs child? Were there any title feuds? Off the top of my head I can think of Paige's family, but not sure what else. I know Jerry Lawler and Brian Christopher/Lawler feuded in Memphis but I don't know the history well enough to know if they acknowledged (even winkingly) that Brian was his kid; I know they spent the bulk of Brian's WWE run only in-joke acknowledging it until long after either guy was wrestling regularly. Ric and David Flair had a number of really bad matches (often involving Vince Russo as a wrestler) in 2000 WCW. Chavo Guerrero beat his son for the cruiserweight belt but that was at the point the entire CW division was bordering on the 24/7 belt in terms of jobber comedy so I don't think it counts as a big match or a feud. There seems to be some big online buzz for a match-up between Dana Brooke and her daddy Batista.

Why didn't Ken Shamrock take off more in WWF? Everybody knows him and he certainly had presence as a character and in the ring He wouldn't have been top guy with Rock and Austin there but he wasn't even a main eventer or a sort of main eventer.
