I ran into something similar with a mission to go after a lance of pirates, then it turned out that the lance of pirates included a King Crab and an Orion, but a lance of Lyran heavies and mediums dropped in to fight them from the other side and it turned into a three way battle. I REALLY wish I had gone for heavy salvage on that mission. But what were Lyrans doing in this part of the Periphery at all?

This campaign run has been weird because this is the first time in either career or campaign I've gone all-in on cash instead of salvage. You kinda end up not giving a gently caress about salvaging a Shadow Hawk when you know you're less than 2M away from purchasing the final Atlas II part off the black market. I managed to get a warhammer by buying parts whenever I could. It was totally worth it, I love this thing. I slapped a ++ er medium laser on it and it does as much damage as an ac 10 for 1 ton.

Man, I'm in love with the marauder. I got one a while back, put an AC20 on it. A little later it blew the head of another marauder. I put a gauss rifle and a 70 dmg PPC on the second one. I'm chopping heads left and right and it's awesome. Also, in case you're curious, no, the - 10% lance damage bonus does not stack.

I had an escort mission yesterday and an APC got stuck. I tried sending my mechs back to get it moving but nothing worked. The annoying part was that I had 4/19 salvage and would have been able to get a full Awesome or Warhammer if I completed the mission. The problem looked like the APC went off the road and wanted to go forward but was blocked by rocks. I guess it couldn't figure out that it needed to back up. I edited the json file to make Awesomes free so if I ever see one in a store I'll get my payout. Adding an assault mech to my medium lance would have been a huge jump in power though.

I've run into a problem with unlocking flashpoints during the campaign that was suggested, from this edit, it seems to break the main quest chain for some reason. Anyone know how I it screwed this up? Decide to add the edit to milestone_355_notify_codebreaker

I just realized the market sells 3 of each partial salvage so I bought my way to an Atlas and Highlander by going nearly bankrupt pre-FP campaign. I need to get in good with the pirates myself, seen Atlas II's there a few times now but when they're almost 150 million that's just out of bounds. Like another poster here I seldom see any missions for them ain't helping. On the bright side I have thumped the Black Widows forces and picked up two Coil M's and a Narc and ammo. Deciding what to do with that. Already had a Coil L put on an assassin. Is there a good Bull Shark loadout or stick with what it has which looks pretty drat good. Not sure which one that is, but the rules for every escort / defend mission are the same: make sure the enemy shoots you instead. Spread damage around every enemy mech so they aggro on you and shoot your guys back. Multitarget in particular is an important trait. Escort missions in particular I'd use lighter mechs because initiative is important. Don't outweigh the skull rating. Like, if I was expecting to go against mediums I might use 4 mediums or a light, 2 mediums, and a heavy. Also vigilance a lot.

For the price of a few contracts on a planet you can buy 3 partial pieces of assault mechs, each black market location. It's six mil for a mech if they hate you a bit (and for some reason you can buy the same mech for 30 mil instead if you're an idiot). Large portions of this game are menus and looking down at a fairly static 3d environment, so uncapped FPS will allow a GPU do pointless busy work.

 Wasted a ton of ammo taking out the defenders and turrets for the base I was supposed to capture, and didn't have much left for the reinforcements. Game proceeds to drop two Panthers on top of this rock spire and two more lights for harassment, and thus began the worlds most idiotic game of King of the Hill as the two lances flailed impotently at each other with overheated lasers, machine guns, and fists.

I'm loving this new DLC. I had about 210 hours into it before then and was kind of tired of it. But the new flash points, the new mechs and special abilities, and best of all the new kickass weapons really breathed new life into it for me. I just completed the timer on my second career at 240 hours. I bought this DLC and RDR2 at the same time because sales, but have barely an hour into the latter by now. All my time went into Heavy Metal.

Like, if your GPU isn't in the upper 80s or 90s then it's fine. Relax. You have the best video card in the world and you paid at least a grand for it. You shouldn't need to baby it and constantly monitor temps. Nvidia is smarter about making video chips than us, all these cards run themselves now. My advice would be to start ignoring that stuff unless you're either hearing too much fan noise or seeing performance problems.

Way back before any expansions I edited the simconstant json for some reason (harder missions? Easier missions? More missions?) and now none of the planets are above 2.5 skull difficulty, other than when they have flashpoints. Any idea what value I edited?

The key thing to remember is that no matter what milestone you edit, it needs to be one that comes after whatever milestone you're currently at. If you are already at the Defense of Smithon, editing the milestone for receiving the Argo will do nothing.

I'm coming back now with all the DLC after having played the campaign ages ago and I'm starting with career mode. It feels like the missions are harder than they were before. I've done a flashpoint - which was fun - but a lot of my missions seem to have 8 medium mechs in or more and I just can't handle it. Right now I've got two Enforcers with L Laser and AC10s which I think is contributing to my difficulty because they run out of ammo quite fast it feels like. What can I do to make them better? Is there anything?
