Hmm, the tories have a point. Nobody likes all these arguments we've been having. It's impolite and ruins the mood at tea time. If only there were a strong form of government... where you never had to deal with any arguments at all... none of these saboteurs all over the place, interfering with the Will Of The People that only Boris Johnson is wise enough to determine... what a wonderful world that would be

Jeremy, perhaps you'd like to take this opportunity to apologise for the fart you just dropped.

I didn't fart! In fact I - oh! Oh wow I smell it now. Anyway, as I was saying -

Apologise for the fart, Jeremy!

It's not mine, and as I was saying -

I just want you to say sorry!

Look, it smells of meat, and I don't even eat -

Why can't you just say sorry?

Listen, farts are a problem in all parties, and I am certainly not responsible for that one. And as I was saying -

APOLOGISE JEREMY!

Phil Schofield springs to his feet, and jumps around screaming like a toddler.

Er, Phil, why is there a brown mark on the back of your trousers?

The local Conservative Party is asked in advance for supporters who are free that day and don't announce the candidate who's coming. For exactly the reason you're talking about here.

Four Tories have visited my town and all have only announced after the fact.

It's so loving good. I know I keep banging on about it but I currently am a victim of the hostile environment. I can't handle the assessment process, so am registered self employed so they'll leave me alone with zero income. Thankfully German and Japanese perverts occasionally buy smut regularly enough that HMRC see it as legit self employment that i'm just bad at.

Ending the hostile environment means being able to just go to the shops and get a meal deal without hoping the missus has left some cash for me.

Ideally you would want DWP people to know about any difficulties so they can signpost / access other support services and programs. But given how that's gone under the Tory DWP it makes sense to be concerned.
Labour are getting rid of the DWP and replacing it with the old DSS. The most important thing is that they will be removing the back-to-work targets, which are one of the things forcing people in the welfare system to become sanction-happy.

Listen to the podcast and skip to the social security section if you have to, it's good stuff. They've genuinely thought about how to fix this.

It was available online before Labour launched an FOI request, and the entirely redacted document (i.e. 'what are they trying to hide') was the big whammy at the debate. If they'd known the unredacted version was out there, why be so vague? There is no way this was Corbyn's doing.

It looked like a bill to me, but then I'm a zero hours precariat so one big bill addressed to me is pure terror. I also thought, again we're talking from a distance, it was the DWP again, who were harassing me some time ago sending through a ton of things like "YOU MAY BE ENTITLED TO STUFF" except I'm not by their own system, so it just ended up being shite, and I've learned to fear those brown envelopes coming through the door from when I was in the WRAG, having been found not fit for work.

Holy moly. Labour have been carpet-bombing this seat - and admittedly there's been a huge glut of volunteers (myself included) because of the Chuka Factor - but this is impressive and bodes pretty nicely for Chingford (IDS' seat) where they've been pushing similarly hard.
