Big headline on one of the print 'news' papers today (didn't catch which one) - Johnson promising tax cuts to millions as soon as brexit done. I wonder if he ran that by Javid - how will they pay for all the stuff they've promised in their liefesto if they cut the taxes? Or is this another respend of the £350m? the bbc political editor should probably explain why she is coordinating this JLM thing with omar katerji, a serial stalker and harasser, spook piece of poo poo who was fired from the daily mail not a week ago for being too much of a psychopath. could this perhaps indicate there is a lack of good faith on both their parts here?

Some fire from my Twitter feed: https://twitter.com/chunkymark/status/1202475808306147328?s=20 As for the election, I have faith. The 2017 one caught me off guard almost as much as Brexit referendum did, though obvs in a completely opposite way, and gave me hope for the future of the country. I haven't seen a contemporary politician as inspiring as Corbyn in... well, probably my entire life. That bit about how his empathy makes him stand out from the rest of the potential leaders in a way that seems almost radical is spot on. Also, from a completely selfish POV, one of the Labour manifesto promises I'm most excited about is the extension of voting rights to all UK residents, 'cause dammit it's hard watching all this circus and knowing that watching is all you can do, because despite having lived here for 13 years you're not entitled to vote in GE. Labour majority and potential for socialist Britain could be the start of something I'd love to be part of and contribute to, but as it is, I feel like it's not my place to do so and am hesitant to get involved in anything due to not being a citizen. It's funny, 'cause I've been hardcore socialist in my beliefs for as long as I can remember myself, but never did anything about it in practice, because in my birth country it's a pipe dream due to lingering USSR trauma, and it'll be a while before it fades away enough for "socialism" to not be a dirty word. UK was the last place I'd have expected to find a strong lefty movement too, because coming from Eastern Europe, especially wide-eyed and freshly out of my teens as I was, I had this expectation of all Western Europe countries be unflinchingly capitalist and, well, have their poo poo together when it comes to a functioning, more or less well-off society. The first shocks to the system that made me question that belief were things like the very prevalent classism and the British "press", with Brexit being the final nail in the coffin. If not for Corbyn/Momentum/new Labour, I probably wouldn't have remained here at all, despite not having much elsewhere to go to; but, I had packed my life up and moved across countries before, more than once, so I know I can do it again if I have to. Except, I don't really want to, because 13 years is a long time, and although I don't have any family ties or what you'd call a steady career here due to having spent most of those years in tumultuous ups and downs while trying to sort out my mental health and figure out what I want out of life, I had lived in a number of places, all of which at some point felt like home, and made close enough friends to have attachment to and give a gently caress about what happens to this country. So, I'd much rather see UK unfuck itself and be able to participate in in that process, 'cause if UK can start building functioning socialism out of nowhere, that gives hope to the rest of Europe too, and perhaps even my birth country decades down the line. And, it would be empowering af to finally be able to put actual work towards something I believe in instead of just quietly carrying those beliefs within me. Sorry about the ramble. Wasn't meant to be this long, guess it's just something I had to get off my chest. And, I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but, can't help but reiterate - vote for those of us who can't. Get us over the threshold, and we'll return the favour tenfold as soon as we legally can, 'cause goddamn, anecdotal data it may be, there ain't many immigrants I know who'd ever choose voting Tory.
