Braggart posted:Okay, the rest of your stuff is just tedious but this says a lot about you. You roll in here looking for a fight, and you directly attack people with mental health issues in an effort to score points. You must be aware that there are plenty of people here with MH issues, we talk about it a lot. So you're trying to hurt posters in this thread who you do not know with hate speech. Take a loving look at yourself, grow up and try to be a less vile, hateful little oval office. As usual, I agree with Braggart. If I were a mod (and luckily for everyone I am not) I'd ban this oval office for that. It was extremely lovely

Perhaps a hamster posted:Also, from a completely selfish POV, one of the Labour manifesto promises I'm most excited about is the extension of voting rights to all UK residents, 'cause dammit it's hard watching all this circus and knowing that watching is all you can do, because despite having lived here for 13 years you're not entitled to vote in GE. Labour majority and potential for socialist Britain could be the start of something I'd love to be part of and contribute to, but as it is, I feel like it's not my place to do so and am hesitant to get involved in anything due to not being a citizen. gently caress nationalism and nationality. I've met Jimmy Carr and he's very different in real life to his stage persona so I'm going to say you're putting way more thought into his declaration of libertarianism than he did. There's "the tax avoidance because I can" and the rest is rationalisation after the fact and performative idiocy

Oh, I do when I can, on a day-to-day basis and all sorts of volunteering throughout the years. It's more so the inability to have a, I guess, legal voice on things, especially on the ones that affect me as well (Brexit referendum, GE), that stings. Though speaking of, for those of you participating in meetings, canvassing etc. - is the contingent primarily British or do you see people from everywhere?

In my first year of Uni I walked past Jimmy Carr doing a book signing on my group's trot back from the pubs, where one of the group, who we were not fond of, heard us go "oh hey look it's Jimmy Carr!" and without looking shouted "gently caress Jimmy Carr" and he turned and looked at us mid-sentence as if he'd been slapped. It was at that moment I dreaded us becoming an anecdote in one of his comedy routines.
