I don't quite understand living in an extremely expensive city when you make your living as a podcaster. Even if they had to buy a bunch of plane tickets that's gotta be cheaper than NYC rent.

Well, Amber's was a writer and academic at NYU (I think?) and Will was a publisher, so their jobs required them to be there initially. Once the show took off, I guess they decided they liked it too much to leave and wanted to consolidate there. You can also more easily get better guests, who they already pay to come on and probably don't want to have to convince to fly out to the midwest or whatever. And there are a lot of successful creatives in Brooklyn, even among all the trust fund "art kids".
