I'm ok with shorting PTON (the stock is expensive)but they have a solid recurring revenue stream in their model, GPRO does not. The argument "there will be competition" is the weakest possible argument against a company, particularly a company that is a status brand. Again I ain't long PTON but its a stupid comparison. FIT stumbled because AAPL showed up (the biggest of all status brands), they eventually got bought out by google and did ok because they are a good company with a good product- its jsut drat near impossible to out-apple apple in the upper middle class market where all this stuff resides. Im not sure who could out status Peloton at this point unless you think AAPL or soulcycle or maybe lulu is going to enter the market edit: bought some unfi feb 12.50 calls because i am a compulsive gambler greasyhands fucked around with this message at 21:43 on Dec 10, 2019 |
