Holy poo poo Feast For A King is great, I'm reading it as some downtime material and I'm loving just being able to binge it in bursts. It reminds me of Kill Six Billion Demons in a looser, more furious dumbass way, I love that it's chock-full of fabulously extra secret societies that have stupid names that give their agents themed names. I'm also enjoying that the POV just drifts the gently caress around from person-to-person and time period to time period as it sees fit in this aimless "deeply engrossing AO3 fic" way.

Like there absolutely is a plot but you learn about through nested 'and now for something completely different' flashbacks. My favorite is when someone in a flashback has a dream sequence with her ancestral genetic memory of her first progenitors and then in her dream her 'dad' is trying to figure out what he forgot that he needs to tell her and then he flashbacks??

So I randomly stumbled into Sleepless Domain the other day, and holy poo poo, what an incredible comic! I've never watched or read any sort of Magical Girl anime/manga but I know most of the genre tropes. Was not prepared for how real poo poo got in chapter 2. I wound up reading the entire thing in like two days. Also dealing with heavy depression/anxiety (and a bit of PTSD), it helped me quite a bit. I had actually been off my meds for a few days because of the holidays causing an interruption in getting my refills, so I wound up catching it at the perfectly right time. Really helped me get through those last couple of days. Heartful Punch is a super badass, and I'm hoping Tessa gets a redemption arc and we get to see all the other girls on the Training Team use their powers. Maybe Bud will spread so much gossip about the Purple Woman that she'll leave the city in shame.
