They've just done a suspension angle with Nyla Rose in AEW: the weekend before she's set to work the Marvelous Korakuen. Past history of similar things would suggest that she's working a longer Japanese tour and if she is that would be very cool - nothing announced yet so I could be reading something into nothing.

The Marvelous show was really fun. Iroha/Syuri vs. Nyla/Asuka was MOTN but the main was a lot better than expected too. Chigusa looked good for a 55 year old. At the end Chigusa thanked Bushiroad for taking an interest in joshi because it'll draw more fans but said she's planning on competing with them and has big plans for next year. Some other news followed that: Chigusa Nagayo is standing down as the CEO of Marvelous with Takumi Iroha taking her place as CEO. What exactly this means isn't clear - Nagayo is the owner of the company (one of them at least; I'm pretty sure there are others and people mention KAORU as someone else with a stake) so she'll still be involved obviously but the nature of that involvement isn't clear. Is it entirely a thing that changes who the public figurehead is while keeping things the same; is it a case of them starting the process of transitioning power from Nagayo to Iroha which was always clearly the plan or what exactly.

That's not quite on the Mei Suruga-Jazz level but its not far off: when it comes to Itoh coming to EVE its a match that makes sense. They initially said "at least two" Japanese talents from a promotion they've never working with before were coming: I think its fair to say that its all TJPW most likely and I think Yuka Sakazaki has that date free which might add her to this. We'll see though.

quick review of the Ice Ribbon NicoNico channel: if you are an Ice Ribbon fan to the point where you'd go back to watch old news and dojo shows that aren't released elsewhere; might be worth your £5/month. Its a separate thing from Nicopro which Ice Ribbon also airs on - the new Ice Ribbon shows go on big Nicopro first where its like most Nicopro shows (two people in studio commentating and often doing silly things, single cam production etc) while the Nicopro shows feel like they were produced for DVD: Multicam, clearly picture, no commentary etc. Shows also don't have entrances or post-match stuff which can remove the context from them a bit and make the things worse and are uploaded on a three month delay - on the other hand the things are much better than your usual Nico broadcasts on rewatch. The highlight though is Ps Party: which is basically the secondary dojo shows that get uploaded much closer to happening. They're produced by retiring wrestler Tequila Saya; tend to mostly feature the Ice Ribbon trainees and younger wrestlers along with a couple of more experienced Ice Ribbon people are some outsiders; both rookies and veterans. Shows last 45 minutes to an hour; three matches; not MOTY level stuff but very fun pro wrestling matches that you can easily watch on the commute to work etc. They also have a complete archive of every Ice Ribbon show to at least the mid 2010s; I think there's a little from the Sakura era as well so basically plenty of content including every major match from recent years.
