Polling seems to suggest their bullshit is robbing 5-10% from Labour which is enough to deliver almost every single one of them to the Tories. (edit: to clarify, 5-10% in Two Cities, which if it's replicated across those seats is enough) goddamnedtwisto fucked around with this message at 18:34 on Dec 10, 2019 |

Have you considered that the british public might prefer to be lied to? Seriously though, that article even manages to have a big eye-catching bar graph of all the major parties* *which is actually just showing referrals and not lies. Then they bury the admission that labour have not lied several paragraphs deep which is immediately followed by a caveat by implying having grass-roots support is somehow cheating. It's impressive how it manages to subtly ape the very lib-dem leaflets it is complaining about.

It would be lovely if we had a system where parties were fined for putting out false advertisements. With the fine coming out of their next electoral spending budget, as an election expense. Or just y'know, guillotine one candidate per false advertisement. That also would be nice. If I'm in a good mood maybe one candidate per impression.

Taking the money out of their next election campaign doesn't really matter to them when they're in power NOW and they won't be the ones doing the lying NEXT time.

Gonna crowdsource this. Does anyone have a favourite, short, video moment from each week of the campaign? I'd like to edit a couple into a video for the livestream to give a sort of "history of the election" thing.

Something I cant quite understand is the LGBTQ community here in Chelmsford is massively Tory. I know that when all brown and foreign born are dispatched, they WILL come for us. Literal vote winner with the old to go against the unnatural. I was toying with the idea of being chief poof in our clp but it would be such a uphill battle (fnar)

peanut- posted:Labour and the Lib Dems are absolutely going to split the Remain vote and elect a Tory in a few of these London constituencies. Because I hate myself - I listened to the 'Remainiacs' podcast the other day with Naomi Smith of the 'Best for Britain' tactical voting site, the one which lied continually on launch insisting people vote lib-dem in every marginal. Well since then she did a non-apology apology where she claimed that the data just wasn't available at the time, and she had to 'go-live' with the site for precious google-ranking reasons. Anyway - even on yesterdays episode, she was claiming Kensington was 'too close to call' using the ingenious power of statistics to say which direction to push 'tactical' voters - rather than fold and admit labour won it last time so maybe just go with that again. That whole podcast is just vile. Full of terrible single-issue voters, who when it comes to it, won't actually vote for their goddamn single issue... and will instead mumble about how 'Corbyn is terrible' for some unjustifiable reason they can't quite put their finger on. It's the perfect poster child of that technocratic elite, who believe that they are politically astute, competent, data driven, and ideology free - despite being a fountain of evidence to the contrary.

The liberal position on brexit is literally the same as the labour one except everything else is worse and they have no plan whatsoever to do anything with it. loving remainers are just as stupid as the brexiters I swear to god.

It's a toss up between Johnson being repeatedly booed at every walkabout he does - being booed out of that hospital especially - the various groans as he shamelessly tries to segue into Brexit during every debate - or the entirety of the Twilight Swinzone, specifically being utterly mullered on live televison by the QT audience. For Corbyn, him reading tweets and goading the twitter gammonati.

My grandmother went thousands of pounds into debt to pay for care, which we only found out when she died. She didn't have anything they could take, except the pittance in her bank account. But she would have lived longer if there had been any sort of social care infrastructure. We took what mementos we could from the house and gave what scraps of furniture she had to charity, what food she had to the food bank, and the house she renovated with the last of her strength went back to the council. And not five hundred feet from her house I posted letters on an estate full of disgusting, filthy curtain twitchers, in grand houses with vaulted halls and leaded windows and three cars in the driveway. And everywhere I go on canvassing I meet these nauseating old wrecks who laugh and crow about their precious brexit or how they'd vote labour if not for corbyn, who've gotten fat on the society built by people like me of an earlier age while saying it was all their own doing. And I hate them, I hate them so utterly and absolutely, if I could snap my fingers and make every last one of them drop dead tomorrow I would do it in a heartbeat, and build a better world on their carcasses.
