This one stands out to me because I guess at first glance it’s designed to be a “lefties want to kill conservatives for sport” but obviously the plot is v “conservatives outwit smug lefties and kill them, but it’s justified”. I mean yeah it’s just an outrage generator but it’s so upsetting that it worked

People are review bombing a hospital because a dude who overdosed was declared dead there.

He overdosed because his private plane was being searched for guns and drugs and he took all of his percocet pills at once so he wouldn't get caught with them.

But it's clearly the hospital's fault.

Jesus, at that point, even though you can manage the opioid overdose easily, his liver likely would have been turbofucked from all the acetaminophen in those pills.

Also, maybe this strikes me as odd because I am old, and not American.

But when I need to go to the emergency room, I don't stop and check the google reviews of the hospital before I go. So those 1 star ratings are literally pointless.

Add to that if I went to a hospital and got poo poo treatment I would blame the government for choking funding for public health rather than the hospital itself.

I'll usually check online wait times when picking which ER to go to, if any American city doesn't have those, possible people who check the reviews?

I can tell you from experience that marketing makes a huge difference in terms of ER people want to go to. My ambulance service used to have an even three-way split between which ER we would go to, then one hospital had a giant marketing push and it went to 66percent they/20 percent the one in the same county that everyone thinks is closer even though it isn’t/14 percent the third one. It was basically overnight.

I've been to all 3 major hospitals in my city, they're all fine, never at any point thought to read reviews, I just went to the closest one because I was injured/sick enough to go to hospital and wanted to do so quickly. I definitely didn't feel like doing anything while I was crying and vomiting because my testicle felt like it was about to implode. gently caress that poo poo, I got my girlfriend to drive me to the hospital across the street because it was across the street (and proceeded to have the weirdest, most amusing hospital visit of my life)

I really hate the idea of "shopping" for anything medicine-related, especially emergency medical care, that just sucks. I feel so bad for everyone trapped in the US :smith:

You may be correct, poe's law and all! It's strange, I dunno why I may have thought that the person posting weird, heinous TERF poo poo seemingly constantly might have some strange thoughts about other women. It wouldn't even be the first time I've seen a "feminist" do that kind of poo poo, fully in earnest.

I guess I should have posted some of her TERF posts instead of just the possibly sarcastic bullshit, hey

It kind of makes sense, one ER has interventional radiology for heart attacks and other really specialized cardiac stuff, one is a really good trauma center, and the last one is dog poo poo for idiots. It’s not really uncommon for there to be a few hospitals close together in areas with high population densities, and each of those is going to have its own ER.
Now, if you mean “getting to hem and haw at choosing which ER you’re going to after calling 911”, that I can get behind.

For those watching at home, "Thanos did nothing wrong" was, at best, originally a satirical take on "Hitler did nothing wrong", an internet refrain also said both satirically and seriously.

I don't specifically remember, and I hated Infinity War too much to bother checking, but I think the scare tactic of 'murder half the universe' actually was part of his plan. Like, if you give double the resources everyone will just go 'sweet, two of everything' and go hog wild consuming things twice as fast, but if you instead kill half of the universe then everyone just has to stop and register that you just loving did that, and be so scared that they slow down enough to recognize that this amount of people is far more comfortable and sustainable.

Of course, that assumes an entire universe of rational actors who are all aware of what just happened, neither of which is true.
