The repeated implication that the consequence of US v Nixon is that the President has to turn poo poo over to a Congressional investigation only if they ask the SC first is low-key one of the most enraging parts of the legal arguments. Edit: Like the entire point is that it was the ruling of the Court that the Congress has that power inherently. It's literally spelled out in the Constitution.
