An old socialist jam man who told Britain that life could be better and worth living was the most hated man in british politics, and they wanted him the gently caress gone. Pouring one out for the absolute lad, who wont ever get that dinner egg.

It is clear that the English cannot be trusted to govern themselves. The only humanitarian option is for President Sturgeon to liberate the southerners and nation build, teaching them the virtues of Irn bru, renewable wind power, and not loving everything up because some muslim people moved next door.

In a shocking turn of events liberals gleefully embrace fascism instead of voting for a leftist.

Yeah. Realizing he was so hated and that his party's loss was because of vote splitting with the Brexit party both made this make sense but also made it cosmically sad. His manifesto was hope for a better world, and his gamble was that Labor could put aside whether to leave or remain for the time being while they voted to ensure a better future. He was wrong. It's a result that makes these non-applicable to any other country, but yet somehow it feels like a suffocating darkness. For whatever it's worth, I do want to say that FPTP loving sucks as an electoral system and completely undermines the idea that the people got to properly choose who they want to govern.

My new unifying theory of politics is that if you introduce an idea or force so grand and stupid that the world reorients itself around the mere possibility of that stupidity, that force cannot be defeated

The British historically wanted bad things to happen to other people (their colonies) now that they have none they're just snakes biting their own tongues.

Your political parties are only allowed to debate whether you should get 2 scraps from the table or 3, and the party that says you should get 3 is obviously communist and anti-semitic.

it will be "interesting" to read the masturbatory posts about data micro-targeting that apparently allowed the minor parties to just tear labour apart from both directions - how many marginals did labour lose because both LD and BREX ate the difference between them and the tories? seems like a lot

i can sort of kind of relate with the hillary die-hards in the sense of me not being able to see what was uncharismatic about Corbyn, they didn't get why everyone hated her either. everyone keeps telling me he's like a root vegetable but he seemed loving cool as hell, consistent, decent, and honest - the rarest politician - to me. everyone who points to a charismatic politician, someone young and 'animated' who seems slick on stage has the exact opposite effect on me, coming across like a cynical empty suit who is pretty clearly lying.
