labour could have campaigned on soft brexit and lost way more middle class urban shitheads to the lib dems, they could have campaigned harder on remain and had no credibility because no one would believe corbyn and theyd also have lost even more former labour strongholds that went strong brexit to the tories, or they could have replaced corbyn with someone more appealing to liberals and credible on remain - and thus completely demoralized the entire activist base of the labour party and sunk the campaign anyway in hindsight you guys were pretty hosed, sorry. at this point you have no option other than to organize for the future, and either dig in on socialism or become more racist

Problem with trying to sell a soft brexit is that absolutely nobody wants it, remainers hate for being brexit, and leavers think it's a betrayal of brexit because it wouldn't put every foreigner in a concentration camp

in my eyes the most cogent criticism of corbyn is one I’ve read from numerous canvassers, to whit, people (poor, white) hate him because they think he believes that foreign lives are worth as much as white British ones. there is no defense against this charge because it’s true. “we have to take care of our own people first” is a rallying cry and it’s one bojo deployed expertly; even nice old ladies who would NEVER think of themselves as racist will agree with it.
