wrapping up plot points is not the same as closure. “all the bad guys died” has absolutely no satisfaction to it

The closure to be had was in Angela's personal story. I thought they handled it well. Most of the emotional payoff was handled in the prior episode imho.

Did anyone else think Adrian was dead as soon as he got turned into the living statue? lol

I figured Tru was such a psychopath that she just decided to turn him into a statue and keep him like Jabba the Hutt.

Everything with Veidt was way better than I expected. Everything else was just kind of okay. Some of it was actively bad.

yeah they did a good job of giving angela closure, except im baffled why she would fall in love with dr manhattan seemingly just because he told her she would.

Nobody falling in Love with Dr. Manhattan makes sense except in the context that they are wowed by his power. If the dude wasn't blue, he'd strike out on every single date.

I'm sorry you don't appreciate the majesty of Lube Man, which alone makes this show a 10/10 best show of all time.

The snow definitely didn't stick the landing. Most of the characters seemed wholly unnecessary in the end. Wade and Laurie were totally immaterial to the story. I didn't care for Veidt being turned into comic relief rather than being a menacing intellectual force ahead of his opponents. Manhattan was also weirdly helpless compared to the comic where he is truly an immovable force.

There was a shot of Trieu juxtaposed next to a crucifix which I don't know if it was a callback to Zak Snyder but it was exactly as bad

Yeah, Manhattan being destroyed is kind of a lame way to manage it, because part of the genius of comic Manhattan is that he couldn't be destroyed but he got outsmarted and his own apathy proved to be his biggest obstacle.

In the end, this show was absolutely horrible after a promising start.

They should have left Veidt where he was. Having Laurie arrest him just seems dumb. LG having the tape and leaving with it would have made a better ending and cement him as the show's updated Rorschach. A guy with evidence, but letting people decide it rather than the loving FBI.

Also cutting before we could see if she walked on water... everyone saw it coming. What's the point? There's no question that she got his powers, so why just not confirm it? There's no reason to be ambiguous. It's lazy.

This shit's about to go off.
Honestly didn’t love the finale, it seemed like they felt they were done dealing with race and policing after the Hooded Justice episode and just went whole hog (pardon the pun) with Dr Manhattan as the main focus. Dr Manhattan is the least interesting part of this show but ended up being the most important thing at the end and they didn’t weave his story into the greater themes of the show in a meaningful way. It wasn’t terrible, just kinda disappointing considering what had come before.
