Finally got to really dive into Dark Souls after a few weeks and I went through a bunch of Anor Londo or whatever the Sunset church area is called. And now I hit a new boss(es). Think that'll be a place to stop while I gather my wits and tackle them again when I have another afternoon to blow.

The boat poo poo kicks rear end so I'm just going to play Black Flag. I'd also advise you to put some time in on other games if you really want to catch up. You'll burn OUT HARD if you try to finish the rest in a year even.

Also, I don't know if you want to go from one AC tutorial right into another. Black flag takes a bit to start as far as I remember, so beware.

There's a tutorial at the start of the game that teaches you the controls if you tell it you don't know how to play but it should just be one of the face buttons. To kill your friend and demolish his body turning him into food just hold down and push the same button.

I'm in search of a good co-op game for my two nieces (age 9 and 6). Thought about Luigi's Mansion 3 (which I haven't played yet) or Mario Odyssey (which I did play). The game has to have a physical release, as the parents don't wanna use the Nintendo shop. I red though, that Luigi's Mansion is not instant co-op, but only after the first missions or so? So: Luigi's Mansion or Mario Odyssey? (or a completely different thing?) Also thought for a moment about Mario Party, but I never played any of those, and reviews are very mixed.

Luigi's Mansion unlocks co-op once you get Gooigi about half an hour or so in and is probably the better option. Gooigi has Luigi's full range of abilities, and respawns if they're killed penalty-free.

DACK FAYDEN posted:It's a functional Mario Party. It's like, as good as 1-3, it's not anything new or groundbreaking, but it's functional and a lot better than the lovely ones they've been pumping out since. There's also a 2v2 mode, if they want to team up rather than compete. It definitely helps, yeah! Thank you! It's hard to judge the user reviews I red because some of the negative ones read like "I loved this as a child, and now ten years later, I play the new one, and I can't extract the joy out of it that I did when I was a child", so it's hard to tell which one is nostalgia-driven. My first instinct was giving them Mario Odyssey for christmas, but they are super envious of each other, and I think "you play the hat" might make one of them cry.

Half an hour doesn't sound so bad (though I am 100% sure total war about the controller will break out within those 30 mins). The younger one has birthday in february anyway, so I get Mario Party for her, then. e: that even fits perfectly, I already know who of them wants to play Gooigi

If you've ever played the older Mario Party games, then you'll understand what I mean when I say that Super Mario Party is Nintendo finally realizing that what people really truly loved about the old games wasn't wholesome cooperation but the ability to poison life-long relationships and incite manslaughter with a simple roll of the dice.

A guy I work with has bought a Switch and is going through some Super Rough Times. He's bloody lovely and doesn't deserve any of it. I offered to lend him my copy of BotW over the Christmas break, but then got a bit ornery about how I'd probably want to play it, and didn't want to lend it to him. Instead of Being Sensible and Grown Up, I used my emergency "oh gently caress I'm broke" paypal money to get him a DL code for it and BOY HOWDY DO I EVER FEEL CHRISTMASSY UP IN HERE.
