RIP Dynamaxing.

It's more manageable in doubles, but it utterly tore singles apart.

yeah, singles becoming just a game centered entirely around dynamax and the boosts it provides doesn't feel good. it's still pretty central to strategies in doubles right now, but there it feels more like a tool you can use and counter and work around if you need to rather than a dominant mechanic

this is probably a good decision

Ribombee with Speed Swap is getting a lot of use paired with Snorlax in doubles right now. beyond that yeah trick room is probably the strat

Ooh I've seen this. It can also Ally Switch to use its 4x fighting resist to tank the most obvious thing to kill a snorlax, or switch in from the back lines to do it.

I imagine with the 1/3 HP heal berries and a strong normal attack that just makes you keep healing it will be a nightmare to kill

God drat, they really took the screws to the movepool this generation didnt they?

The Hidden Power TM was removed, things like Pursuit were cut, a good chunk of other moves got nerfed into the ground for who knows (they cut Thief to 40? Why?)

Anything else I miss? What else did they gut in the purge, that's just mean man :stonk:

Body Slam looks intact to me.

Jokes aside, I kinda miss having the in-between of power between Body Slam and Double-Edge. I'm having a hard time settling on one of those for my banded Snorlax. Although on things being removed, I'm glad Hidden Power is gone.

How are you peeps using cleric Togekiss for CPU raids? I'm trying to make it work, but some of these idiots get destroyed in one shot even after setting screens (Sophie's Maractus :argh: ), so Life Dew ain't going to be of much use.

Return and Frustration got gutted because it was inconvenient as hell to set up on certain cartridges in tournaments, and because they completely reworked friendship.

Gutting them with no replacement really stings though. The gap between Body Slam and Double Edge is too wide, and Normal can't really provide much coverage so the base power of the moves better be up to snuff.

Silvally can literally be any type and has good stats across the board and a 120 BP move of every single type. You can bring a Jolly Silvally trained in Attack and Speed and basically do as well at raids as possible with the least amount of effort.

I mostly use Eternatus because I'm done playing "fair" after facing several Centiskorch with White Smoke as their ability. It does struggle with some Ice, Psychic and Ground types, but otherwise its bulky enough to shrug off most attacks.
