Mr. Dick posted:It's not really a bummer, it's a message to the audience. One potential future is what happens when society goes the barbarism route, the other when it goes the socialism route. It's your choice which ending you get, it's you who touches the scepter. you know what, im actually very okay with multiple timelines being concurrently canon.

Fantastic Flyer posted:This has all been a vision the shadow baboon had when Audrey smacked it. imagine though, the scepter actually stopped working in one of those times she whacked the baboon, but nobody knew anything was wrong and so later the skyggmerian dude touched it, realizes he's in a simulation and attempts to give himself a suicide-prophecy but it turns out he killed himself for nothing because the simulation is actually based on the baboon and knowing thorsby he'd make it so shadow baboons live a billion years just for irony

you know what just hit me: the stuff about the ambassador being insane because he has the determination to commit suicide so many times, otherwise the scepter wouldnt work the way he uses it... is basically all wrong. he doesnt *actually* need to have the willpower to commit actual suicide. he just needs the willpower to do so if the scepter doesnt work when he touches it. so actually he just exploited a loophole lol

Man a one term politician that actually set out to do what they said they would and then retired? I'm in love.

All the goons who don't want a happy ending and are hoping for a fakeout, shame, shame. Let the characters be happy, deal with it.

Yeah, after the dismal UK election, I'm hoping for the best for Diabolica and their socialist spider president.

Zoozoo didn't run for re-election, but did Trixie then become president? Maybe this is just a mid-story denouement and we'll get to see her 2nd run.

It says epilogue. Unless he decides to be a jerk this is 100% a well-earned happy ending.

We're never going to find out what the deal is with the names
|
# ? Dec 16, 2019 06:34 |

I mean the names are just the product of a D&D/fantasy world that progressed far enough socially to form nations and democracies and poo poo. Surnames don't just go away, even if they're "Genocide" or "Slaughteraxe". Chances are Trixie is just descendant from some dude who did a lot of slaughtering. With an axe. Anyways even Barbara gets a happy ending! I can't loving believe this comic. I love it so much.

Zoozo Zlen is actually the best president and I hope he enjoys life with his wife and their 36 children. Barbara seems so much happier now that she's not so angry.

This might be Thorsby’s strongest ending. It’s nice to see everyone get what they deserve. Hitmen for Destiny is still better overall, and the ending was satisfying for the handful of characters who didn’t die, but I’m digging the Trixie epilogue. I’m just waiting for a surprise, like people have mentioned the stars going out, but Thorsby never really ends things with a twist, they’ve all been pretty straightforward. I’d be okay with another straightforward ending.

I feel like we spoiled this one a little by putting all our intellects together and noticing the scepter's deal too early. Not that it was that subtle, but it would have been a pretty neat twist.
