Also Spider-Man was 15 when he started being a Super Hero.

Also, again, Peter Parker was 15 when he became a Super-Hero. The O5 X-men were all teenagers when they saved the America from Magneto the first time. Reed Richards brought his girlfriend's teenage kid brother on an experimental space flight. If anything they should be encouraging more teenagers to be superheroes, because in the 616 teenagers are the only thing that stands between us and complete annhiliation.

I liked Cates' Guardians of the Galaxy series, but I think it was a bit masturbatory that when Rocket asks what he's missed the montage is exclusively other stuff Cates himself wrote.

It’s definitely a weird cover; as was mentioned, we saw in the preview that Cap is firmly on the side of the youngins. And if it’s meant to mirror the Kamala/Miles/Sam variant cover, then Iron Man or Black Panther would probably be a better stand-in than Cap. But at the end of the day it’s difficult to imagine anyone at all in favor of locking down the teen heroes.

Well, I should clarify: it’s difficult to imagine anyone giving enough of a crap about teen heroes to be out actively arresting them. Also holy gently caress Mr. Horse is the best character of the decade

So it seems like the Kree and Skrull are now one and Hulkling has been "activated" to become their new Emperor and invade Earth, all while Atlantis is attacking, teen heroes are being outlawed, and all kinds of wild other poo poo is happening. All of this seems pretty par for the course for the Marvel Universe. I dig it. but what's with the loving trees??? Oh, and I'll take that Three X's series, please.

Yeah but that was three writers. I'm thinking of something like Secret Wars, but every line from every single character is written by their current writers, or at least someone who's written them recently. It's definitely mad enough to not be worth the effort.....unlesssss it is~

I think the only reason this hung together and felt like a cohesive story/crossover and not just a bunch of random vignettes like some of the version of these books that they used to do is because Al Ewing was involved/the 'show runner' for the one-shot, and between this, Marvel 1000, You Are Deadpool, No Surrender/No Way Home, and even just his solo work on various books at Marvel, he's demonstrated a huge talent/interest in sort of putting together puzzle pieces of a dozen different storylines/writers/characters/etc. in a way that feels fun and game-y as opposed to continuity-porn sloggy. But this works for something like this because even though storylines are intertwined, it's still [writer of book] writing [vignette of their character], with minimal actual crossing over. Trying to do a full event book like this would get complicated quick, what happens when Captain America has to talk to Spider-Man and Iron Man at the Avengers Citadel? Do Coates/Spencer/Slott/Aaron trade off pages? Panels? If Captain America is talking Avengers business, does Aaron supercede Coates? Does Tom Taylor or Leah Williams get to pitch in on Mary Jane or Aunt May's dialogue? I mean, on some level this is exactly what creative summits and conversations between creators does in terms of creative input but people still routinely become convinced that Writer A is maliciously and/or stupidly loving with their other creators in a rude crude way that I suppose having notarized affadavits swearing that Eve Ewing AND ONLY EVE EWING UPON PENALTY OF PERJURY contributed every single line and action performed by Riri Williams in every issue of a crossover would convince people that no one is deliberately and cruelly loving up Ironheart, though would anyone actually believe that Marvel editors didn't lie and change all of the dialogue they didn't like and then bully Ewing into perpetuating that lie, out of hate, cowardice, and capitalism?

I finished the Simonson Thor run yesterday and it can hardly be overstated how awesome it was. I wondered that it might have peaked early because that's the stuff I mostly heard about or saw adapted but it ended so spectacularly it honestly made me giddy. That fight against the World Serpent with splash pages the whole issue was so rad and I wish I could send that issue back in time to myself as a kid to thoroughly blow his mind.

Maybe helps that I watched Neon Genesis Evangelion recently and this page gives me those vibes.
