I had someone explain Canto Bight is good or at least had an intended good purpose. We see the true problem in star wars, the cause of this constant cycle between liberal democracy and fascism the universe seems trapped in: capital. No matter which side is in power, capital keeps profiting off war and supplying hardware for what ever government is in power. That you can keep blowing up the latest super weapon or sith lord but while capitalism still exists the cycle will keep happening.

Like, that's a good and timely message. But it's still extremely poorly inserted into the movie.

It also doesn’t hold up in the Star Wars Universe where your whole solar system might get vaporized by one side.

Supposedly it’s a mixture of him and doubles currently due to his schedule keeping him from being physically on the set for the entire time.

Who is/are the body doubles? I kinda feel uneasy when they don't get any wide, or a least a bit of, recognition when they are doing the majority of the physical work.

That would require people in charge actually planning out things... Have you not seen the Disney movies? Those are not well planned out.

The Child is not connected at all to Palpatine because he escaped somehow when the Death Star exploded. That's it.

Now I will go scoff some more.

Baby Yoda is literally Yoda. It’s a clone of Yoda. The scientist who wanted to study him had a patch from the Kaminoan cloning facilities and Moff Gideon said he’s “not what you think”. Is it even really in dispute at this point?

Maybe cloning guy wanted to study him to create a clone of Yoda's species which is now thought to be extinct? A new imperial clone army, of yodas.

They could have been using an auto frequency scanner (a thing that actually exists).
Another option is they were using old imperial gear to communicate which was broadcasting on standard imp frequencies

In a single week of movies and television we learned about Force healing, Strand-Casts, and Sith spirit transfer in both pieces of media. That, alongside our previous knowledge that Baby Yoda and cloning are somehow related.

No, I’m pretty certain it’s Yoda. If I had to guess further, they cloned Yoda, a famously powerful Force user, so they could tear him apart and extract his midichlorians so Gideon could infuse his troops with them, creating an army of Force-wielding stormtroopers with which to conquer the galaxy. Maybe they’ll use it to retcon the whole “midichlorians cause Jedi” thing.

Star Wars has been saying "clones did it" since forever. I wouldn't be surprised if baby yoda is a central character in the new Star Wars trilogy in 2022.

Picture it: Baby Yoda, against his own will, created the new evil empire in the ST. We get 3 - 4 seasons of the Mandalorian where we see the creation of the first order, new secret clone armies, the origin of snoke, the return of Palpatine, all of which is directly due to baby yoda. Ultimately, Mando dies and the fate of the child is unknown. Then, oh look, it's 2022 and there's a new trilogy built off the momentum of the show. That sounds like Star Wars to me.

Buckle up baby yoda

Concepts aren’t stupid. Execution is where things succeed or fail. Everything in this show is hinting at cloning, Yoda, and the Force, and everyone is lapping it up like ice cream, so why assume they won’t be able to pull it off? There’s nothing at play that hasn’t been well established since 1980. This show has more than earned the benefit of my doubt.

That, and it's also the most Star Wars thing to introduce something that seems ridiculous and sudden in a movie, then explain it in another piece of media. That trick has worked for nearly 50 years.

Ahsoka was brought back from the dead by the Force in canon, so even if it wasn’t a “duh” power to bring back from Legends it was already basically canon.

I think this is related to how, with rise of Skywalker, they revealed in the trailers thatpalpatine was back. So everyone going in to the movie would know ahead of time. Then apparently in the movie they didnt even bother to explain how he came back, it's just accepted by the audience at that point

I mean, dead pulp villains come back with little explanation sometimes. I wasn't excited by a return of Palpatine plot but it's very genre appropriate.
