Don't do a full download, that crash is at the end of the partial portion. Still can't dodge it (I just kept trying until it worked) but you'll save some stress.

There's a bonus 50 Chrono Stones (instead of the usual 20) every day until the 25th as part of the event. The actual event is permanent. As far as I can tell anyway, if it expires then EVERYBODY has dropped the ball on reporting that and it would go counter to every other event the game has done.

How are you guys getting poo poo like this? I did Post-Apocalyptic and nothing made any sense.. First I was scavenging then a woman showed up and she was crazy and the conversation kept swinging around wildly, but we talked and she said she was hurt so I asked her to come with me to get her help and she was like "Nah I'm going home", so I went to a town and there was a grocery store.. but when I went in it was like the grocery store was just a normal grocery store, not like swarming with looters or anything.. then I uninstalled because I was bored.

I did a survivor of the zombie apocalypse and I just kept typing "survive" and I wound up murdering an entire town with a knife, beating up a couple kids, and transforming into a dark monster who flew into a black hole and wound up in a mansion walking through hallways of paintings looking at different scenes of my own life.

They're basically however long you want them to be by way of near infinite scaling, although I played like 70 hours of 2 and there was still actual content I hadn't yet seen. 3 has the most content so I would go with that one (I didn't end up playing it as much as 2, but that's probably because I had already played so much).
Good if you like games that are surface level simple but have some deeply intertwined mechanics below the surface that can be totally busted apart. My team in Siralim 2 could just take turns forever as long as the enemies didn't instantly blow me up.

They are all great and have enough differences that any given person would probably have a favorite (#2 for me).

Siralim 1 is the lightest on features, obviously, but everything fits together nicely. Spells aren't really a thing so the meat of the game is creating a good team combo and overpowered items.

#2 is the bulkiest game, adding creature breeding, deity favor, cooking recipes for buffs, and so much more. It definitely gets pulled in a lot of directions but that's part of the fun. Magic got an overhaul and becomes something your creatures do and the FOO strategy is to buff up a super fast caster with an AoE and one shot the entire enemy team before they can act. There's a million other ways to bend the game over your knee and half the fun is finding those interactions.

#3 cut away a lot of fat like building up your castle. It's got the best balance since #2's very OP spells were brought in line and equipment was switched to be % based. Personally I liked the feature creep of #2, but objectively #3 is probably the best in the series.

All three games have a main story (though #1 is super bare-bones) and an infinitely scaling post game. The core theme of each game is devising ridiculously janky interactions of your 6-monster team through their unique traits. Or just brute-forcing everything through the magic of grinding and watching your numbers get bigger.

I guess #4 was just announced as "Siralim Ultimate", so I'm obviously going to get that one, too.

Thanks for the run down everyone. I got 3, since everyone says it's probably the best, and then immediately regretted it, since everyone's favorite is 2. If I really enjoy it, maybe I'll get 2 once my Google bucks gets back up there.

Rogue adventure is mechanically different enough to be inspired by sts without being a direct rip like at least 3 other games on the play store. It's fun and good and has a lot of unique ideas.

Seriously I've played 3 games that are card-for-card clones of slay the spire. Ugh. Endless Abyss, dungeon tales, and wandering night, those are the ones that just cloned the game wholesale.

I've been enjoying Rogue Adventure quite a lot, guess I'll grab Slay the Spire as well

Nah, 3 is my favorite. Most goons like 2 because they played it the most and didn't want to do it all over again in 3.

The problem with Siralim 2 is when you discover that you can have spell cast before the battle starts. If a battle got to turn 1 then you were playing the game wrong. You just never died. It kinda just became an idle game where you watching numbers grow.

It is fun to figure out the t0 wins that didn't take forever to resolve but that is the meat of the gameplay.

The game is awful at explaining that you're really supposed to grind on the Hard "Another"version of the dungeons at least early on. The normal dungeons give bad exp, but also worse, don't give the mats for equipment close to your level.

I grinded a bit on the first hard dungeon til I got enough mats for weapons for everyone and that kept me going for a long time. You really don't have to upgrade everyone's equipment all the time. I generally don't until I get a level that's easy to grind for my team and the difference is in the double digits.

The problem with that is that the "Another" Dungeons don't open up until after you beat that boss. I got a couple levels, upgraded weapons, and was able to defeat the boss. I really wanna just make it to Chapter 16, so that I can recruit Joker and Morgana to my team, but I guess I can't just coast my way there. Ah well. I enjoy the game enough that I don't mind.

Yeah, it's more that the "Another" dungeons are woven into the progression of the normal levels. Sometimes you may want to tackle one to get gear to move on with the story, sometimes the base story's stuff will be fine. Sometimes you'll think you want to grind the base story, dip into a new Another dungeon because you hit a reasonable level, and find out it's not too difficult for your team and gives vastly greater gear.

Mostly just know that once those open up they're not intended to be something you ignore until postgame and can be a good source of loot/xp if you reach a wall. I find I make my way through about 3 chapters before I reach an "okay, time to grind new gear" point. Give or take whether one has a bunch of units weak to my basic attacks so I just sweep it for a while getting loot/XP.
