Jojo did correctly recognize that American cops harass black people for no reason. But yeah, no excuses for the Stroheim stuff. If I recall, some episode featuring lots of Stroheim aired on Toonami the same weekend as the Charlottesville demonstrations Dr Christmas has a new favorite as of 22:34 on Dec 26, 2019 |

I mean Joseph and his allies were never really like 'gee Stroheim is a great guy,' they were just thankful his insanity was aimed at a common goal. It was also set pre-WW2 in 1938 so it's supposed to be 'pre-Nazi war crimes' but a Nazi is a Nazi and von Stroheim is just a loving weird thing in the entire series and not easily defensible.

part 7 is an alternate universe where characters are slightly different, like Johnathan is born and raised in America as a jockey (Johnny Joestar) and is not as straight laced, Dio is too but he's just kind of an rear end in a top hat and not really evil though Johnny hates him. Stronheim shows up as a competing horse racer, heros kill him and move on after one page.

Related, Buzzfeed did an article where they got women to try to recreate poses from comicbook panels and then photoshopped them the rest of the way just to highlight how bizarrely impossible the anatomy in the comics can get: https://www.buzzfeed.com/kristinchirico/superheroes#.osLEzY8v36

you're supposed to design it so you can still stand normally without the legs banging together constantly, otherwise you have to walk like that lol he did it semi-correctly with the arms but seems to have kept his knees in the center of the hulkbuster legs, resulting in having to walk bow-legged. other than that it's a pretty great costume, just looks unimaginably uncomfortable

Captain Invictus posted:Oh for sure, that's how you do big bodies when you don't have the physical frame for it. like, if he had done paper-thin inside thighs/shins and super fat outer thighs/shins so that his actual human legs could stand properly, it would have helped immensely in being able to walk properly and not bowlegged, which...let me tell you, walking all day like that is gonna gently caress up your legs and possibly back muscles for aaaaaages I've also seen cosplayers gain extra height by having the costume's head up above their own and they peek out of the chest or the neck to see where they're going. Some of them attach the costume's head on top of a helmet they're wearing but that's not really recommended because it can catch on things and wrench your neck. I know that the Jim Henson company has a rule of never attaching puppetry parts to the puppeteer's head https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGRGOPGF1LQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0J6DW1pDAE

yeah, I was just mostly focusing on describing ways of preventing terrible leg, hip and back stress from walking all hosed up in a costume. heightening the head like that is definitely possible, hell, that santa hulkbuster is a fake santa head on top of the suit. I don't know if I could do it, not being able to see except out a pinhole is not for me, thanks are there any videos of huge elaborate cosplays wiping the gently caress out because the guy inside couldn't see where he was going?
