God Jul! Did you already get sprinkled with pigs blood by the hostess? It’s not a real Julfest until that, and then you drink mead until you pass out. Anyway, I love how often a thin varnish of Christianity has been pasted onto traditional pagan celebrations, as the church realized they couldn’t stop people from actually holding them. The most glaring one is the Nordic midsummer, which is supposed to be celebrated in honor of John the Baptist. Hah.

Eh it's just syncretism, happened pretty much everywhere where Christian missionaries ran into the local pagan customs. I assume it happens between other religious confluences as well, I'm just not as well versed in other religions. That is to say, I'm not sure how much of it was intentional.

It's kind of ironic that the fascists simultaneously worship the pre-Christian nordic traditions but also the Christian era "traditional values" As if the two weren't completely exclusionary. I could count on one hand (If I was some lovecraftian monster with hundreds of hands) how many times people with Nordic rune imagery talk about "Christian roots"

Whatever, the sabbath was on Saturn’s day, then Christians changed it to the day of the Sun god (i.e. Saturn). Christmas, lent, and Easter are all based around Saturnalia. Hopefully one day the Lord of Misrule will lead us to a time when we can worship Saturn openly again.

See they don't value spiritual theology and want it all to add up, they just want to stick it to anyone not white. They'll wield religion like a club to do that, and if its nordic or christian religion they use to do that they don't really care.
