The three guys who quit actually own the rights to the band name, and while Laiho has said he's gonna keep playing old CoB songs under a new band name, I've no idea what the three are gonna do. Based on a couple of interviews Laiho did, the three others aren't planning on doing any band projects. Laiho's gone on record saying "if they want to keep the name, they can", which implies he hasn't sat down and asked if his new band can keep using it. The name is owned by a company run by the three ex-members of the band, and Laiho was a partner until recently. My guess is he left so he could run the new band himself, and the other three kept the name so they could retire while still selling CoB merchandise and records.

It's been a while, metal thread. Has anyone seen/heard of the Metallica S&M show? https://www.google.com/search?q=metallica%20s%26m%20tribute I almost crashed my car when I saw the billboard on the way home today, and thought it was the real deal. I still thought that when I saw the price (like $100 for good seats, yes seated Metallica show...) but after reading the fine print it turns out it's some kind of approved tribute band? I checked a few videos it it's kind of meh but it could be just the crappy recordings. They mostly seem to be touring Europe now so I don't know what the chances are somebody knows WTF this is about. I have the ticket reserved until Thursday but I'm kind of doubting it. Guess having a bankrupt government really brings out people's grim attitudes because they have a pretty active metal scene. Like if you deleted all the scandinavian countries for some reason, Greece would be #1 in number of metal bands per 100,000 people.
