stop making sense

autumn colours in the woods have been replaced by a mysterious and weakly photographed wandering fog

Where do you keep finding all these glorious gnarly snags?

Central Highlands, Southern Midlands and Central Plateau of Tasmania are all ripe with squillions of dead trees from 2 centuries of poor agricultural practices and also semi/
alpine/alpine+droughtish climate. Also Cider Gums from the Plateau naturally look apocalyptic anyway

Super jealous of that. I know of an area with some cool twisty tree corpses in Montana and obviously every forest has its snags but nothing I've seen has such a wealth of such cool textures.

Yeah the worsening yearly bushfires have also really been a bittersweet addition ripe with gnarly photographic oppurtunities i've been dreadfully slack in exploiting. I really should photograph some burnt bush before the collapse of civilization and biosphere

True. In editing I was getting down with the post-nuclear explosion shadows burned in to surfaces thing. But would probably need to be a series to work rather than a one off.

A couple from Japan:

These last two, I kind of did for a "content aware fill: gas stations" joke. I like the post apocalyptic satsuma sign but I don't think I captured it very well.

A couple leftover from NYC, probably everyone in the world has the chelsea market bridge shot, but it looked good in the terrible weather.:

These are great.

Are they combined exposures or did you manage to get everything well exposed in a single shot?

it's just the magic of negative film. the middle one is only a bit flat because i had some light leak issues with my changing tent that i had to work with.

^^ i think it depends on the mood you want to portray. there's something nice about the quiet stillness of the wind in the first one, imo.

I serve...

I'm a fan of motion in windmills, but I do like them both.

I'm trying to figure out my crop on this one. I think it needs the pitch black for the night time feel, but just not digging how it frames it.
