The Pew Research Center is the gold standard on this stuff, and christianity is in decline in the US, and has been for a while: https://www.pewforum.org/2019/10/17/in-u-s-decline-of-christianity-continues-at-rapid-pace/ But I'm pretty sure it's the moderate and even left-leaning mainline churches that are seeing the decline. So the megachurches will continue to be A Thing for a while, sadly. And since they are all in on the GOP, we are all going to have to deal with their poo poo.
