There are three churches along the main drag here, one is a youth church that I've heard is pretty neat built in the old movie theater, an olds church where the congregation isn't younger than 50 with a huge billboard out front they always leave annoying messages about everyone's value (i.e. the youngs are anti christian, if you aren't just like them you are human garbage, etc), and the local catholic church that advertises it's Saturday feed the poor/needy (after you sit through a three hour service). In town there are four more churches, three of which are located within a block of the old folks home. I'm from a region of the midwest where we don't see a lot of those targeted religious/political billboards, but large pro-life groups snatched up a lot of ad space years ago, and refuse to give it up. Every 10 miles or so there's a baby smiling with "Wow!! I could feel pain 17 days after conception!?" in big bold letters next to it.

Around VA and NC there's a lot of houses with those yellow "Thank you Jesus" signs in the yards, though that's not really the same thing. I took 95 down to Florida over Christmas from NC and I didn't really see any religious billboards until I hit maybe the southern part of Georgia, but definitely Florida, there were a lot of "FORGIVE MY SINS JESUS SAVE MY SOUL" billboards.
