Kind of interesting. I take it that "water" must include salad dressing. Also, not sure why soup requires noodles, almost none of the soups that I make have noodles in them.

Wait. The chart says “smootie”. Urban Dictionary says that’s either a slut or a hot guy. In conclusion, “smootie” is a land of contrasts.

I don't know if anyone else is following this but here's the gist of it: Psychiatrist Matt Walker writes popular book claiming that lack of sleep will kill you dead and causes a bunch of fatal diseases and dementia. A cursory examination of even a single chapter reveals a whole bunch of misrepresentation of data, misinterpretation of data, and dishonest cherry-picking. That's all described here and it's a good read: https://guzey.com/books/why-we-sleep/ Andrew Gelman has written on it a bunch as well: https://statmodeling.stat.columbia....eys-criticisms/ https://statmodeling.stat.columbia.edu/2019/12/26/whassup-with-why-we-sleep/ Latest stinger is this. Walker talks about chronic lack of sleep leading to increased sports injuries in adolescents. Here's the graph he presents to make his case: But here's the original graph from the actual study he's citing: And as a purely unrelated matter, I love Dorktown:

Why the zoom in on Europe? Whhhyyyyy? It doesn't show anything that keeping Europe in the rest of the projection would show.

Also, if Louisiana has elements of common law, which that map seems to indicate, then why do they make me a separate bar exam? WHY GODDAMMIT

It's a map of different legal systems. Red is common law, Blue is civil law, Green is Sharia, and Yellow I think is traditional law. They also use secondary colors to highlight hybrid systems, but they don't bother labeling those, so yes, this map is bullshit.

The 5 hrs bin might have so few observations that the error bars overlap with the 6 hr bin and they would not be distinguishable.

I can find it credible that, barring people with very specific medical conditions (including things like alcoholism and having small children) or people working really weird shifts, very few people sleep that few/many hours on average.

Have been giggling like an idiot at "porm" since this got posted in Discord last night I also just appreciate the people who go to Pornhub and then just try to search for "porn". I feel like whatever you're trying to accomplish by doing that has already been done by successfully getting to the website.
