CPS is really pretty toothless so she would have had to be a thoroughly lovely mother to get her kid taken away.

My dumbass troop slapped his toddler son in an Applebees in front of a bunch of witnesses and all CPS did was interview him.

"Spineless bootlicker" is descriptive but Schmidt's explanation feels like it really cuts to the heart of the matter, and I understand the worthless little coward more now.

That account has been making some real wild claims. Including that the US created all the previous anti-corruption protests, of which al-Sadr was a supporter, but also suddenly all the Iraqi leadership decided to tell the US to get hosed, including al-Sadr. And that actually, SMGs didn’t shoot anti-Iranian protesters when those protesters were rushing Iran-friendly posts and facikities, it was secret US Marine sniper teams.

Well, Trump did just pardon a bunch of war criminals and then go on to promote war crimes.

B. It is unlawful to operate an indoor shooting range in any building not owned or leased by the Commonwealth or the federal government unless (i) fewer than 50 employees work in the building or (ii) (a) at least 90 percent of the users of the indoor shooting range are law-enforcement officers, as defined in § 9.1-101, or federal law-enforcement officers, (b) the indoor shooting range maintains a log of each user's name, phone number, address, and the law-enforcement agency where such user is employed, and (c) the indoor shooting range verifies each user's identity and address by requiring all users to present a government-issued photo-identification card.

Is this saying that shooting ranges are fine for anyone if fewer than 50 employees work in the building? I'm really confused by what this is supposed to accomplish.

It makes certain business models less viable. Or at least forces them to play a shell game with employees. Basically just an annoying way to block or remove certain existing or future shooting ranges.

The bill would essentially close all of the indoor ranges in Northern Virginia. Most are in buildings with more than 50 employees (or themselves employ more than 50), and none of them cater exclusively to law enforcement training.

The rumor is it's meant for closing the range at the NRA building in Fairfax, but would definitely apply to others.

Feels weird to me I guess, never been to Virginia but in Kentucky it seemed like all the ranges were standalone buildings that were outside urban areas (zoning and property values trump the 2nd amendment you see)

I can see the public safety rationale behind most of what VA’s Democrats are proposing even if I don’t agree with all of it, but this crosses the line straight into “gently caress you and your unseemly hobby, gun touchers” territory.

I saw this in the D&D ME thread, but I would advise taking this stuff with a grain of salt. He's also claiming that Trump fostered (lol) the mass protests against him which is highly unlikely for obvious reasons and most regional experts said the protests pre-killing Soleimani were due to this guys corruption issues, not because El Cheeto formented them.

He also tells the Saudis/Israelis/Russians everything, so he's basically a worse OPSEC violation than troops taking selfies/checking in when deploying.

Yes, hence why I said its not corroborated, but its also not entirely out of the question that Trump might have acted to make them worse, and we have done it before.

There was a major problem in Ukraine, where the good-guy Ukranians kept getting killed by near pinpoint artillery strikes from bad-guy "Ukranians" and Russians. It was more or less proven that the bad guys had the ability to locate the good guys based on their smartphone pings off the network.

Considering American troops in the region are probably not operating on completely friendly cell networks, there's your reason why. poo poo could go down and each smartphone is a locator device.

I completely understand why they don't want troops to have their cell phone I'm just saying the reality is from being deployed twice in the past 5 years is that everyone brings their cell phones with them.

Was this Ukraine's artillery phone app, or something soldiers were downloading off the internet to calculate fire that got compromised and gave the Russians their GPS coordinates? I thought I had heard the latter.

Supposedly it was developed by a Ukrainian officer and spread semi-officially via forums which is what hosed them
