But you could see how she suddenly opened up the livestream, realized she's on camera in the background, and then walked (as much out of frame as possible) to them, whispered something to them, and they changed the camera angle. It wasn't a real fuckup, just funny, because you saw other people working at their desks. But Sandi didn't like it.

The general public has completely lost all interest in Star Citizen, it is now seen as either a complete scam or an odd novelty. The delusion that once SC releases there will be thousands of players around to work as space janitors on a whale yacht is even more hilarious.

Nothing new aside from that intense legal shade thrown at them - Crytek says their claim is only actionable once SQ42 is released. Given CIG's track record, that is precisely two weeks/never.

Also pragmatic - I'm guessing that Crytek doesn't think they'll be able to get at backer money given that it probably exists in an extremely grey legal area (deliberately so on CIG's part), but any actual sales of SQ42 after release are certainly fair game.

Yeah, and one has to be especially delusional to think that SQ53 (which is probably dead, anyway) will be a success on the scale of GTA V or the latest Call of Duty.
But in a way Chris already succeeded, he created the best game ever because it's something different for everyone and lives to 90% in peoples dreams. The remaining 10% that is real might be a buggy mess, but enough to let the dreamers imagine what could be and let them have a hell of a time buying ships and theorycrafting. A SQ53 release would destroy that, so I think the lawsuit is quite good for CRs exit strategy in regards to SQ53.

Lmao they won't even find the bug. This is CIG and SC we're talking about. The bug is too fundamental to the mess of code that is the game. Its not a bug in the classic sense.

They'll "fix" it by building a whole new system that goes around it, but that'll be just as broken.

CIG cannot make video games. They fundamentally lack the knowledge and ability.

In filings found by redditor RiSC1911, Crytek argues that its claim that Cloud Imperium is in breach of contract is predicated on Squadron 42 existing as a stand-alone game, and that it won’t be actionable until its release.

Its a bold strategy to avoid getting sued by simply never releasing a product.

Fidelity. Wait, was I'm working on again?

These people - they're everywhere. It's like running into one of those church people when you're not in a position to retreat - you just clench up and think "Oh gently caress, oh gently caress, one of these, I guess I gotta ride this out" and you grit your teeth and put on that fake patient smile and nod a lot until the storm passes. Except the Star Citizens are patrolling every corner of the internet. I'm waiting for one to show up in the comments section for Cosmopolitan "10 Ways to Please Your Man" and they put in "Why no mention of buying him an Idris?"

You know, knowing Chris Roberts, I'm extremely surprised that the screen doesn't flip to black and back every few moments, with a vertical wipe, to simulate the natural act of blinking your commando's eyelids. After all, as Chris has shown us repeatedly, he sees things every sane person edits out, like the sides of your helmet or head bob. The cameras are apparently already in the eyeball. In fact, instead of making the screen go black, they should actually animate the lids down over the camera view, that way they're not "cheating" and it's more fidelitious.

Didn't some game do a blink mechanic at some point?

In my amazing post-pocolypse event is like to say I wish I was the fly on the wall when the CryTek guys realized CIG had to release the game before they had something they could bank on a lawsuit better.

The many tables that were thrown over that day is probably pretty high. For days. Just some guys coming in, and starting to flip tables where people are working and stuff, raging about deadlines and development practices that CIG can't seem to manage like even a third rate Russian game from some guy named Dimitri and made inside his garage.

Yes, the solution was a bootable floppy disk that would set up a ram drive on your PC and directly launch Star Citizen.
You have to spent $1000 to qualify for CInotG to ship it to your home along with a Crobbear cardboard cutout of him sweating and absolving himself.
