Kevin & Kell is a nationally syndicated newspaper strip which has a setting kind of like Zootopia, except the predators still eat the prey who are all intelligent beings.
Kevin and Kell is a webcomic. It's his other two strips (Safe Havens and On the Fast Rack) that are in newspapers.

Safe Havens is more the transformation by magical technology one. In this one it's generally just used as a terrible metaphor for being transgender.

This all makes it sound like the artist just has a transformation fetish (which is different from fetishizing people who are transgender). Or maybe it's both.

To answer both of these questions it's helpful to know that the creator of this comic is legit crazy and stupid as poo poo. They currently have three (3!) daily, nationally syndicated comic strips that are all completely batshit.

The short version is that in this comic, technology is magic, and the anthropomorphic cast can change their appearance by using said magic, which takes many forms. The taller rabbit, either was originally a rabbit, who had a procedure done to look like a rat (because reasons), or was always a rat, but the aforementioned magic allows you to just change species. Which I think happened to her late last year to teach her a lesson. So like all magic, it's completely reversible. Or it isn't or whatever. It's very poorly explained.

The smaller rabbit is the rat's adopted daughter, who is a skunk, who used the same magic perfume to look like a rabbit to go along on this adventure. Because if a rat and a skunk wanted to get into rabbit territory they could not.

The comic also has several tone deaf trans stand in characters but rather than moving from male to female, they move from predator to prey. So a wolf has surgery to transition to a sheep. In part, because he fell in love with a sheep. That he had been using as a head covering to hide among the sheep.

Seriously, just go read the comic strip thread.

Wow when I saw the comments on her being a trans skunk or something I thought that was a joke in bad taste, nor, well, whatever the comic was

People love to speculate about Bill Holbrook's fetishes, but I personally believe he's just catering to random fetishes purely by accident. Because if he wanted to write a fetish comic, it would be 100% obvious all of the time. The man does not understand subtlety at all. Combine that with the way that he uses metaphors without thinking about context for even a second and you end up with a lot of weird implications that I'm convinced would just never occur to him. And if you pointed them out, he would accuse you of reading too much into it.

It's a way of suggesting one is turning thought into action. In socialist rhetoric "praxis" would be, say, hosting a food giveaway for those in need as opposed to merely posting about it on an internet forum.

Socialism is gaining traction, and with it the associated vocabulary.

also, replying by saying something silly or exaggerated is praxis, or asking if it is praxis, has been common low effort humor judo for I want to say like three years now. now that we've sucked the air out of the bag containing this humor it should stay fresh for months.

Fun Shoe
I remember seeing one of those "really stoned guy tries to order fast food" type comics, but it was done for a thread in GBS 1.0. This European guy got baked off his rear end and tried to order pizza, and when they asked him what he wanted on it he was just, like, "... mayonnaise?"

I'm sorry that's not very funny outside the context of the comic but "... mayonnaise?" has stuck with me for many a year

There is one from those old threads that I thought was very funny at the time where the guy was so wasted he walked to the employee side of the counter when ordering. I don’t remember why I thought it was funny...
