No Butt Stuff posted:Because they brought Nagy in based on his track record as the OC for Patrick Mahomes. It was a bad hire and they won't admit it because BEARS. Nagy didn't really have anything to do with Mahomes IIRC; he did a lot of the playcalling during Alex Smith's last season with the Chiefs though. I do agree that it was a pretty poo poo hire in retrospect though.

Jiminy Christmas! Shoes! posted:Why is Bill Cowher even worthy of being in the Hall of Fame? Longetivity? Stubbornness? I don't recall him being any kind of great innovator. He really doesn't deserve it, and his entree opens the door for both Tomlin and Andy Reid. The three of them share essentially the same shortcomings to go along with the hundreds of Ws between them. Imo, Bellichik is the only coach since Shula retired who belongs in the hall

Reid is an easy Hall of Famer even without a Super Bowl. Bud Grant and Marv Levy are in, Reid has more wins with a better WL% than both. (OK, he's a few percentage points behind Grant, with 3 years' worth of extra games.) Once Dungy (139-69, 9-10 playoffs, 1 ring) went in there was not really much argument for leaving Cowher (149-90, 12-9 playoffs, 1 ring) out. The HOF standards are lower than you might think e: I mean you or me personally might wish the standards were a lot higher, but they aren't e2: The anti-Reid argument is that the proper comp for him isn't Bud Grant, but Marty Schottenheimer, whose regular season record of 200-126 is spectacular but who is not in the HoF because his postseason record of 5-13, uhhh.... isn't. Reid has an almost identical regular season W-L (I think they briefly DID have an identical career record at one point earlier this year), a much better playoffs W-L. Houston got outscored 51-7 in the last 40 mins of the game. That's hard to do.

My cheering order: 1. Packers 2. Titans 3. Chiefs (very close with the Titans) 4. 49ers, albeit somewhat of a distant 4th. Fine with any of them, really.

The best part is that the turnaround happened approximately two minutes after the graphic showing that Houston had outscored the Chiefs at Arrowhead that year 42-7 since the 2nd quarter of their game in Week 6.

Out of all the teams left the Chiefs are the most objectionable due to paying Frank Clark and keeping the dude who broke his kid's arm.

Jimmy G wasn't Brady's underling. He was his replacement, chosen by the dark lord Belichick himself. That is why the gods of football allow him to succeed. While people rejoice at the fall of New England, evil rises anew in San Francisco.
