Despite the numerousness of these chuds, it’s important to keep in mind Richmond is a majority black city with the rest of the population being affluent liberals and college students, so basically all of these people are from out of state or at the very least from stupid useless parts of Virginia For every one of them there’s like a dozen Liberal Virginians who are halfway to being disgusted enough by this stuff to do something about it and I think on balance this rally is good for pushing a lot of generic smug debate oriented libs towards a political attitude more seriously informed by contempt and disgust for the right Local socialists are also doing their best to identify the groups and people hanging around and make compelling arguments to aforementioned affluent libs, particularly the local DSA chapter which has a contentious relationship with the central party and tends to lean further to the left

that being said I suspect the majority of the attendees are not people from the actual poor rural satellites of Richmond given the expensive hardware they're toting, since most of those rural communities are at least a plurality black and largely depoliticized hellholes that don't tend to have much of a voice in these events
