With their next game NeverWinter Nights they ended up having to replace a couple portraits in a patch, because apparently they didn't own the rights to the photos they were copying. Which means that this was a common thing?

I could have sworn that I read in the 1st or 2nd edition campaign setting for the realms that the background info section on the planet (Aber-Toril) has some sort of weird electromagnetic field that makes electronics useless there.

So that no matter what, their society could never really advance beyond early 20th century Earth, even if all the magic disappeared.
