I assume, once you have the greenhouse, building an ancient fruit farm is just: growing some, turning them into seeds, growing more, repeat ?

I decided to pick up the game and replace my brick-turned-wood flooring with stone. Not as pretty, but it'll do until the game is patched. Played a few more weeks and found the Solid Gold Lewis. Very specifically and deliberately placed it in town, somewhere all the maps demonstrate as having no villager pathing.

Statue just up and vanished anyway.

I think this game hates me.

This is obviously not applicable to how most people play the game but speedruns prefer to sell to Pierre because the points where you need to spend money are the times you visit Pierre anyways, and the cutscene showing you all the money you got from shipping bin for a day takes like 10 seconds and doesn't show up if you never ship an item.

Yeah. Then it will appear in either his home or Marnie's home after that.

Wanting the letter is why I left the statue in town. Didn't get it, statue wasn't replaced with a Rotten Plant, and it's in neither Lewis' nor Marnie's bedrooms.

It's a small thing and I'm addicted enough to keep playing, but the completionist in me is gonna be forever infuriated that I don't have that letter in my collections.

Speaking DLC where you make people's lives better, can I please get one where you dunk Lewis' head in a toilet and give him swirlies while repeating over and over that he's a moron and should just loving propose to Marnie, and when I finally let him up for air he agrees and does just that?

Thanks in advance CA.

I want a DLC where if I die in the mines there's a funeral ceremony and I can, a la soup day, choose one item to be buried with and take into the next life.

If you manage to die in the mines on the morning of the community luau and you only have friendship hearts with the wizard he should take your remains and put them in the soup. If you've been selling your produce to Pierre prior to this point then it results in him getting arrested since he probably bragged about how he personally grew/foraged all the ingredients that went into the soup. If you haven't sold Pierre anything then the community turns against Clint because he's the least socially networked causing him to get arrested instead.

This should also have an appropriate achievement involving a fava beans pun.

My wife says she needs/wants a harvest moon style animal festival.

In harvest moon they have life spans so they can only be entered a limited number of times. My argument was that found just submit the same maxed animal every year.

Either they should be dq'd after they win or can only be entered in certain age groups or something that limits the field to a non trivial comparison.

Nobody in town likes Pierre. Even his wife and daughter just sort of tolerate him. Like some days you'll find Caroline hanging out by the community garden and if you talk to her the first thing she says is "You know, I'm just going to focus on trying to think positive today." Clint is just kind of a sad sack in a similar vein to Shane, albeit with far less of an excuse for being so. If the town could collectively pin a crime on anybody, it'd be Pierre.

He's got too much social capital, though. The town depends on him, for better or worse, until JoJa pushes him out for good. The witch hunt should target a person at random and maybe favor Clint/Pierre/Elliot for being anti social.

Clint also has social capital too though, as the town blacksmith he's replied upon for repairs. Also, for as much as he complains about being lonely, the other townspeople have no problem hanging out with him and he actually appears fairly well connected socially. Gus could probably provide a solid alibi for the dude since he eats at the Stardew Saloon every night. Clint is, for all his flaws, an active and contributing member of the community and unlikely to be used as a scapegoat for any major crimes.

I also don't think Elliot would be targeted because, well, he's just too darn charming and likeable! Can you really picture that pretty boy writer who lives on the beach and hangs out at the library killing anyone? No way! He might not contribute to the town in the same way that Clint and Pierre do, but he's social and charismatic and is also accepted as part of the community.

The person who'd get the blame would need to be someone who's both socially inept and doesn't provide a useful service for the town. Someone like....

Sydin posted:

Oh yeah, Linus is absolutely the kind of person who'd be blamed for a small town murder. No job, no family ties, rarely speaks to anyone, keeps to himself in a creepy tent on the edge of town.... if a murder really did go down Linus would be lucky to even get a show trial before they hang him.

Linus is also the source of the sashimi recipe

If you give him sashimi he knows you're using the knowledge he passed along to you, and that makes him happy

The way they encouraged it in many of the harvest moon games is that after winning the festival, your animal would produce better produce. Because winning multiple festivals with the same animal didn't provide any better produce, you were best off rotating animals through the festivals.

That being said, I have a hard time actually playing beyond 1-3 years in any of the games, so it's not a mechanic that really impacts me.
