Schiff ending his time tonight with an appeal to senators to show the same courage that Yovanovitch and Vindman have shown was pretty rad.

There is no reason to concede the GOP making a circus out of the Senate trial. I mean if they are determined to do so they have the numbers but it will be entirely on them rather than being able to say the Dems were complicit in doing it.

I feel there should be no horse trading over Biden testimony regardless of how one feels about Joe as a candidate.

impeachment status: trump allies trying to throw the republican lawyers under the bus

quote:

Trump ally Rep. GAETZ praised Dems' use of multimedia, which he said gave their trial presentation a "cable news" feel ...

Unlike the Trump team, whose presentation Gaetz said felt like “an 8th grade book report.” "Actually, no, I take that back,” Gaetz added, "because an 8th grader would actually know how to use PowerPoint and iPads."

In an election with a lovely candidate that made Democrat voter turn out nose dive he still lost the popular vote by 2.9 million votes. The GOP rat loving democracy with voter suppression tactics, the Democrats running a poo poo right of center candidate, and our lovely electoral college system is what gave us Trump, not the majority of the country

I apologize if this has been brought up already (probably a while back or in another thread) but I was reading conflicting things so I was just hoping to clarify it.

Can the Supreme Court Justice say “The Dems make a good argument for witnesses, therefore I’ll allow witnesses”?

One thing I read said “Yes, absolutely.” and the other said “Yes, but the Senate can overrule it.” I’m guessing the latter but that it’d also look really bad for the Senate if they did that?

The senators can always overrule the judge on anything. Roberts is there to do nothing of any substance.

Actually you owe me 6! But who's countin?

So two things with regard to this proceeding being a trial:

1. Isn't it the job of the judge to determine if evidence is admissible? Why are a majority of jurors allowed to say what they will and will not pay attention to?
2. It seems like a pretty big deal for jurors to not listen to arguments whenever they want. Why isn't the judge doing something about it? The supreme court is supposed to be a co-equal 'apolitical' branch last I checked.
