One could say it is very foolish, even dumb, but I would say the guy who goes back to rescue the guy hanging from the quay while a several hundred-tonne boat bears down on them is bad-rear end: https://i.imgur.com/opjWG0n.mp4

Wow. Crazy to think there are people out there who have devoted their lives to become absolute masters of things that I am not even vaguely aware of. Puts into perspective just how small my, well, perspective is.

It was like 10p for an hour's session including equipment hire and the old folks would always be happy to teach you. It's a relaxing pastime with a low skill floor and - as that clip shows - a ceiling so high you can't see it.

Megillah Gorilla posted:What's that one where they wear scoops on their arm and throw the ball at each other at light speed ? The best/worst Jai Ajai is loving Magic City. I broadcast the sport at my company and its loving great watching these non-players go hard. they're all retired athletes from other sports so they are very unpredictable which makes it so fun. Also some of them have extremely well fed paunches and inflated egos and its like watching a Will Farrell comedy sports scene.

The most important takeaway: when Gandalf is grimly discussing the risks posed by The Palantir, French Gandalf is warning them all about 'the ball'. Or, I guess, orb, which is more dramatic but still a meme.
