I really don’t like the top rope stomp because all the stuff they do to stop from killing their opponent makes it looks unspectacular, and yet it still is super painful to take. It’s the exact opposite of what a wrestling move should be.

I don't like it because unless you're willing to obliterate the other guy it just looks terrible, and mostly even then.

Undertaker had the Phantom mask.
Jericho wrestled with a cast on his arm, kinda counts.

D'lo had that chest protector and Bob Orton had his arm cast but I don't remember if either of those were legit at the start.

They're talking about Paige, not Diamond Dallas Page. Paige's back/neck is totally hosed up, she knew even when she was active that she wasn't going to have a long run because of scoliosis I think?

Oh that makes more sense. I don't know that much about the lady so I forgot she existed.

My bad.

I assume the corner cannonball is much the same. Not really a lot of ways to not crush a guy when you're just flinging yourself at him.

Why did Macho always look so strange when he was running? Is it because he pulls his legs up so high?

Just to follow up on the double stomp question you're supposed to do a box jump or squat style landing and engage your quads, hamstrings, and hips to absorb the force and soften it. It lessens the impact but won't entirely eliminate it obviously.

I wish this video had sound instead of music so you could hear his feet hit the pavement but this is the basic idea. It's also much easier to do the landing on a flat surface like the ground versus a human torso

Why hasn't A.R. Fox gone anywhere? Handsome, not too small, got a ton of attention from Hell of War, the Skulk thing suggests that his peers like him.

It can't seriously be the porn thing, can it? That might have stopped WWE before they reached the Punishment Martinez level of barrel scraping, but second tier places like ROH and Impact aren't proud enough to care.

I would have thought AR Fox was closer to 40 than he actually is, and was on the Mercedes Martinez line of "too old, don't want", but gosh he's only 32

maybe they hit their quota on furries

My wife and I were watching Dynamite last night and, during the Cody/Kip Sabian match, she turns to me and asks: “So, what are Cody’s pants about? Like, there’s a garter, a codpiece, his logo. Is it supposed to be like something? Why are they designed that way?”

So, question for the thread: What are Cody’s pants?

Bad shot, but here’s an example from last night:

pretty fucking embarrassing to watch
Kairi Sane was scouted by Stardom because she played a pro wrestling heel in a play and Fuka, one of the executives in Stardom at the time, saw the thing and offered her a spot in the Stardom dojo.

Hikaru Shida came from an acting background but I don't think it was theatre acting (the story with her was that she was in a TV series called Muscle Venus with the cast of that basically forming an idol group from it; then they collectively got cast in a film about pro wrestling and all got pro wrestling training in the Ice Ribbon dojo with Shida, Tsukasa Fujimoto and Miyako Matsumoto discovering that they really liked wrestling so stuck with it afterwards) but she later formed MAKAI which is sort of a fusion of theatre acting and pro wrestling; not entirely sure how exactly to describe it.

Actwres girlZ also put on theatre performances. (The "act" part of Actwres I guess). I'm not sure which of them came from a theatre background though. I know Miyuki Takase's background is YouTuber.
