E! network is not the same since they cancelled The Soup. I guess when an unpopular show takes weekly jabs are your highest rated shows, that can happen.

Hah, yeah, I think once the aforementioned "Wild On" show was over, E! basically turned into endless "GGW" commercials that were satisfactory for the young, pubescent males.

Don't forget those pre-internet times when you would watch scrambled premium channels for a chance to see boob. I also would tape things like the SI Swimsuit specials, though they were always frustratingly tame.

Summer vacation was the best. no one is home and HBO would show R rated movies during the day so you could always count on seeing someone topless a few times a day.

Or you trick you mom into renting Weird Science or Sixteen Candles so you can freeze frame that locker room shower scene.

Reminder that Sixteen Candles was rated PG. That's right. PG.

E! also had that Jenny McCarthy Las Vegas show before she became an anti vaxx nut job.

Bachelor Party with Tom Hanks. Rated R but HBO didn't care back then.

Same here. I haven't listened to the live show in at least a few years. I stopped paying for Sirius, way overpriced at that point, and don't really feel like going to the effort to find the shows online. However, I listen to the old shows all day at work. 1994 is probably my favorite year (although I haven't really gotten to 95 yet), and Billy West is easily the best thing on the show (Jackie voice probably the tip-top in terms of making me laugh). Almost anything Jokeman is still hilarious to me. All the Artie years when he was sharp are also great. I don't feel like ragging too much on the current show because poo poo changes (I mean, 25-ish years later, good lord), but I think it's the intense contrast of quality that is so surprising to so many.

Oh well, here is a new Baba Booey GIF I made whilst bored at work

There's a segment with Gilbert and (maybe it was during the news?) they were talking about Kelsey Grammer's wife having IBS. For half an hour its just Fred playing farting and making GBS threads sounds while Gilbert, Howard and Jackie just riff.

Is this the same show where earlier in the news they goof on Michael Jackson and "gabba goo" and accidentally getting a light bulb stuck in your rectal passage? The IBS thing starts because Kelsey Grammer is mentioned and you can hear Gilbert start laughing out of nowhere like he's been passed a note and then they launch in to it. I think Kelsey Grammer/IBS/fart sounds was a recurring news bit.

I've listened to that show an embarrassing number of times.

edit: it's the beginning of part 8 of the todd packer gilbert clip pack, if you've got it

Zapped was one of two movies I found in the HBO channel guide that had SC in the list of descriptive abbreviations. It stood for "strong sexual content". So of course I had to watch Zapped and Mata Hari.

Here in NB, we got a bunch of the French channels, including stuff like TQS and whatever. Bleu Nuit was incredible.

Then we got Show Case, which was Canada's version of HBO, and they had Red Shoe Diaries. That channel is actually how I got into Oz; looking around for something to watch one night, and I see Ernie Hudson. Being a HUUUUGE Ghostbusters fan, I decided to check out what he was in, and lo, my love of Oz and HBO started. For years, the static and chorus was mentally tied to the Oz theme song, so it was super weird to hear literally any other themes song after that.

Weird, I also mentally hear the Oz theme song start every time (~*Ugh!*~) the HBO static/chord intro plays too, despite having watched a million HBO things before and since, it's automatic now though regardless of show.
