Lol at what the latest “Inside Star Citizen” documented...

This entire segment is one where the subtext drowns out the text. We see Chris (finally!), and what’s he been up to in this time of missed deadlines, worrying roadmaps, and heightening pressures?

He’s doing just what he think he’d be doing— micromanaging fashion concepts for denizens of an upcoming moon. The maestro of micromanagement at work.

Just listen to Lando, laying the groundwork for upcoming bad news. The whole thing is just one big blinking warning light.

Finally, an Inside Star Citizen that tells us what’s really going on lately!

No, you’re not.

Something’s clearly changed at CIG. It grew more and more obvious over 2019, as Chris slipped quietly into the background and Sandi not only left, but left without even the acknowledgment she left.

Chris pretended, back during the Calder investment announcement, that he’d remain in control operationally. He may still be the biggest stockholder but he sure isn’t acting like a guy in control, a guy with an industry-changing, Hollywood-studded AAAA game soon to hit the market. He acts like he’d ready to say goodbye, he just can’t find the door.

Lando laid the groundwork today for bad news. So we might not have to wait much longer for it. I’d love to see Chris or Erin squirming through a sit down with Lando, if they can handle the shame of telling people yet again “Welp, we’re running a bit behind.”

(But maybe we’re assuming too much and things are actually going great...)

Nice to see him taking a break from rewriting Star Engine's physics. I don't know how he manages to run a 500+ person company with everything he does. Oh, wait, he probably doesn't.

That one showing how many people on the call kills me though. This is something i preach hard to project managers. You don't waste peoples time sitting in meetings. You break meetings up into parts, and bring in who needs to be there for each topic. You then have summaries and meeting notes just for relevant people, rather than monolithic meetings with people sat around for ages just listening to stuff they could read in meeting notes.

There is no way everyone on that call needs to be there to discuss fashion.

Make that lapel green!

E: This is seriously painful to watch. Chris provides vague wishy-washy leadership, saying "I want something 50s style!", these amazing talented artists go and come up with unique, creative designs riffing on 50s, only for him to go "NOT LIKE THAT!" and they ditch it all.

:sigh:

Chris is what would happen if you gave $500 Million Dollars to the average forum poster who rambles about "I want a game that does this and this and this and this and this and this" but has no idea how to do any of those things or even how much work they'll be.

How do we even know this was filmed recently? For those who still care I hope it wasn’t. Concepting fashion in the first of 100 systems 7 years in means we’ve reached the rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic phase of collapse. Nothing more than that happens here.

So, the handwavy 'liar liar pants on fire' guy who always wears the exact same black sweater, black t-shirt, black jeans and clown shoes (even in these stills above lol) 24/7, is now analysing and judging the fashion that his "actually quite talented" and 'paid for' character artists are making?

Isn't that a bit like getting Stevie Wonder to critique and judge a Van Goch painting?

I mean, yeah, I get that bullshit meetings are part of business culture and important for people that don't have any tangible skills despite of talking.
Everyone and his dog has an opinion on colors, or clothing for that matter. It doesn't take any skill to say "This jacket should have green stripes", even my grandma could. So this is perfectly up Chris` alley I guess.

Just imagine the new Boeing CEO has a meeting with his underlings, discussing the color of the tailplane rudder in great detail while the plane is grounded and widely considered a deathtrap. This is the vibe I get from those pictures.
