I was just thinking that. I figure it's gotta be relatively old - $11k doesn't buy much these days. What year?

New job has me moving from a 2018 Tundra 4x4 with the TRD Off Road package to a 2020 F-150 with the FX4 package and probably the smaller ecoboost motor. The 3UR-FE in the Tundra gets laughably bad mileage, 16.5 mpg is the best I’ve ever done on a long drive from Orlando to Miami. The new truck should get mid 20s, I think.

You must have your furnace set way too high if it's -45 outside and 59 inside! sorry On the bright side, if you leave a nice steak in your garage for a few hours, then hit it with a quick sear, it'll turn out perfect. Elviscat fucked around with this message at 04:29 on Feb 1, 2020 |

New employer and new position at work this week, and I am immediately happier. It’s been such a slog with the old employer that it’s affected my mental health—I’ve gone on antidepressants for the first time in my life after my first admission that I had problems with alcohol abuse. I’ve done so much more guidance and interaction with the team and superiors, as well as the customer, than I have previously. More authority and more responsibility is on my plate. Also, new employer has insurance costs cut from previously $1200/month to $400/month and a $1500/year raise on top. I’ve lost 10 pounds since early December. Maybe it’ll work out ok after all. I’ve actually enjoyed going to work for the first time in like 3 years. 2020 is OK so far. (If it sounds weird, I’m a government contractor. Same-ish job, different company.)

They fired a guy on second shift today for loudly making anti-semitic comments at work. I filed a complaint on him a year ago for dropping the n word in the locker room 3 or 4 times. He won't be missed.

How about we just keep this one rolling till whenever? Company that acquired us last year has split what was my Dad's team of 35 years up. He's been retired 15 months but he's going in Monday so we don't piss off the customer too much. All the guys that worked on the project with him are out on install and the project manager is sweating. So far things are ok for me but I have to go on long term disability until I'm back up to full time hours....which will be a while. There anything better than uship for moving a car across the country? The broker I've used in the past isn't replying to emails.

He's been banging a shift lead that reports to him. Rumor is he cosigned on her car loan, but that's just rumor. He's sleazy (and ugly) enough that I can see him using that as a way to get laid though. She's pretty attractive, 15 years younger than him, and has some self esteem issues. He fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down, fell in a tub of lard at the bottom, and ate his way out of it. The company frowns on relationships within the same store (which is kinda surprising considering how drat big the store is, we have 400+ employees - relationships are gonna happen). Relationships within the same department have to be "approved" by management (and I know of one that has been before, between two people in my dept). Relationships between a manager and someone reporting to them is very much territory with any company in the US, I'm surprised he still has a job. Apparently we're swapping managers with the other store, and it looks like she's been demoted. bandman posted:I mean, I hope it’s that or the Coyote, but I don’t really get to choose. Really surprised me, an engine that small has no business moving 2 1/2 tons like that. heffray posted:Best Buy frequently puts 8TB WD Easystore usb drives up for $150 or so, tell Windows to back up onto one of those. She has ~240GB of stuff total on her PC, and about 80GB of that is in Windows.Old (from the one reinstall done when we replaced the motherboard several years back). Have a 500GB SSD on the way, and we'll turn her existing 1TB drive into a backup drive. Right now her "backup drive" is a 500GB drive that I had as a spare somewhere. The 1TB is only a couple of years old (the PC originally came with a 1TB, but it started throwing SMART errors.. had over 10k bad sectors by the time I looked at it ). I'd prefer to do a cloud backup solution, but she doesn't want to pay for it. Previously we used Crashplan to back critical stuff up to each other's PCs (mom's, mine, stepdad's - basically everything important on every PC was on every other PC, encrypted), but with Crashplan gone, we just kinda let that fall by the wayside. blindjoe posted:Windows 10 comes with Backup - you can use your drive with it.

I prefer to have the sins of my past posts washed away every month with new chat threads. And having regularly refreshed threads keeps them from getting too massive, which I feel is more inviting Maybe seasonal chat threads, if we don't want to do monthly anymore?
