It just falls apart but that energy was still stewing. Makes sense that Bernie was the only one in American politics that was able to harness it and direct it. Being old enough to remember the previous american leftwing movement and knowing what to do with it.

Sat literally one foot away from Pramila Jayapal in a packed basement in Greenville, IA, before going out to knock doors.

Then got back for the Omar canvass launch in the Des Moines office which was packed to the rafters, and started noticing Chapos peppered throughout the crowd. Waited around in the madness afterward trying to get passengers for my car to knock doors so I wouldn't have to drive by myself again and ended up standing next to Will Menaker, and rear end in a top hat that I am told him that my friend from Austin DSA would murder me if I didn't tell him to get Heidi Sloan on the show. He was really affable and told me they already knew of her and were looking into it to see if they could make it work with their upcoming travel schedule.

Also while waiting I got approached by a Swiss(or Swedish?) journalist who wanted to interview Bernie supporters and she let me bellow into a microphone for a lunatic for a few minutes. I barely remember anything I said other than when she asked me if I identified as a socialist I said "I actually identify as a communist, but the dumb kind that doesn't read books." I do not know if she will use anything I said because there were a bunch of way more interesting and articulate people than me there but if I find out she did, I will link it in the thread so we can all lol at me being a dumbass hick

My car ended up being a guy from NY, a guy from LA, and the already infamous Irish guy and they were all really cool. Irish guy especially was a trip to talk to since it's like "yeah actually our country does all kinds of insane things, doesn't it?" that I could not stop acknowledging

Door knocking itself was good too, outside of the girl with $60k student loan debt who didn't think erasing it was worth standing in a gym for two hours and a guy who screamed GET THE gently caress OUTTA HERE at me rather than answer the door. Everybody seems to know what's up when I tell them to check the location the day-of without me having to explain it's an attempted ratfuck too lol
