They're mostly good but what varies for me at least is if they're a genre I'm interested in. Some are obviously gonna be higher quality than others but nothing has really struck me as "bad" yet.

That tweet would be an interesting conversation for me to have with my game art friends about the explicit and implicit effects of "art style" as an element of game design, but presented on Twitter by Chet it's some kind of representation of an absolute law of game marketing from on high or something. Chet's tweets mostly just make me tired. More so than Rami's.

I'm reminded of how any decently-animated 2D game sometimes gets categorized negatively as being a flash game because only flash would have decent 2d animation. Mostly thinking about Hollow Knight here.

Simple graphical styles are a blessing because they allow low budget teams to still make meaningful experiences Stardew, Dusk, ANATOMY, countless others are all incredible games and even I get tempted to try and make something despite having the artistic ability of a lemon Personally I think 90's 3D or sketchy drawn art are some of the best mediums for horror games because they naturally obfuscate whatever they're depicting
