GATOS Y VATOS posted:Another change: Only members of nonviable groups will be allowed to realign. In the past, candidates who had initially hit 15 percent could lose supporters in the realignment. But for this cycle, the initial 15 percent support gets locked in." e: nevermind. if non-viable voters can congeal behind a single candidate to turn them viable, then it's clear why the DNC made that change: * they assume Bernie has a hardcore base, gets to 20% or whatever, and then they're all locked in * everyone else slums it out in the sub-15% basement because there are too many centrists and shitlibs all trying to draw from the same brain-poisoned base, so all of them are unviable, except they all back a single candidate, which then comes out to a higher total than Bernie's * in the event that one of the non-Bernies does get above 15%, then they become the candidate of choice of course, this is all going to backfire because none of the non-Bernies are going to be able to decide between themselves who should be the single winner also because Bernie's just gonna win outright

gradenko_2000 posted:if non-viable voters can congeal behind a single candidate to turn them viable, then it's clear why the DNC made that change: Most actual Democratic primary voters don't see this as some grand operation to keep Bernie out of the nomination, he's the most common second choice among both Biden and Warren supporters. It's more likely that the second round would maintain or increase his lead if he ended up in front.

anyhow iowa is especially loving dumb because tonight’s caucuses barely have anything to do with the amount of delegates candidates get. this just decides the delegates that go to county caucuses next month who then decide who goes to the state caucus the month after which is where the actual delegates are decided
