He basically says that we're getting screwed on trade an he's right. I'm worse than he is, but we can do something about it and I don't know if he could have." because maybe I'm mishearing it

i like the comparisons the press does when they put a photo of the US President on their first day next to a photo of their last day. they always look so tired in the second one. katie hopkins looks tired like that when i see her in the news. being a hatemonger must be exhausting

We may be moving towards student loans being more easily discharged in bankruptcy. Judge ruled that legal standards were being applied too harshly and that there was a false assumption that debtors would never be able to make the legal standard causing cases attempting to discharged the debt as being regarded as in bad faith. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZxo2SrmbME&t=844s God reading some of the articles talking about how this is a bad thing just made me feel dirty. Oh well, get hosed assholes.

For those that don't know oncology, there is no stage 5 Checking the wiki, oncology of lung cancer is complex, with lots of variation. Stage 4 has an average 5%-1% survival rate at the five year mark. 2A has a rate of 26% by that same metric, though that drops to 18% if it is a "small cell lung carcinoma". Stage 3A has a rate of 19% - 13%, while Stage 3B has a 7% - 9%. (Yeah, for some reason the odds go up slightly at this stage if you have small cell, no idea why.) So: not good

Nebakenezzer posted:If it's not too contrary to the thread, could you explain why this is? Buttigieg bet the farm on winning in Iowa, and he has very little infrastructure anywhere else. He's barely been present in New Hampshire, for example, let alone South Carolina or Nevada, and lol at him even thinking about Super Tuesday. It's not an unusual strategy, and it's why the Iowa winner isn't particularly predictive of the overall winner. Second, as was already stated, Buttigieg has literally 0% non-white support in some polls, and even the good polls for him have his support at very low levels. Super Tuesday includes several states where the Dem primary electorate is majority non-white. This lack of support stems from his ... poor ... record as mayor of South Bend. A good overall explainer is here. It's worth pointing out that although his support with non-white voters is the worst, he's not alone. Biden's poll numbers have largely been held up by his support with non-white, particularly African-American, voters. Bernie is the only other candidate who has made any progress gaining support outside of the wealthy, white part of the Dem base. As much as a clean win in Iowa would have been ideal, it still looks like Bernie will win by some, and possibly all, metrics when the dust settles, and he looks strong going into New Hampshire.
