I wish that Square went completely bananas and decided to give FF8 the FF7 Remake treatment. Imagine a completely developed online CCG version of Triple Triad

They often never actually see a game's content, not even some goobers in an office. They just get reports of the content from the devs trying to get their poo poo rated.

Banjo-Kazooie was published by Nintendo and I think technically counts as a Nintendo game

Turok was great when the only other real 3D first-person shooter was Quake, which was on a platform that only the richest yuppie kids could get their parents to buy for them in the mid-90s. Same with Goldeneye, a multiplayer real 3D FPS when the only other option for that kind of gameplay was your community of the richest kids could LAN together some PCs for Quake.

N64 had the AKI wrestling games, it will never be topped as a console. But to speak dispassionately for a moment, Nintendo completely shot themselves in the foot by going with a system that couldn't meaningfully do FMVs at a time when FMVs were such a gigantic selling point for early 3D games, especially JRPGs. That was really an own goal there.

I can't stop listening to Muse's Black Holes and Revelations album. I'm 15 years late on it but I'd never listened to the full album until recently and drat that's some good music. Also, Banjo Kazooie is good and so is Tooie even if both have some flaws (some more major than others).

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts is the only approaching decent game the two were in and its still chockfull of garbage.

the neighborhood kid swarm had a weird set of 'house rules' around smash 64: - interfering in a battle between two other players was considered cheap, unless you were going after someone with a big lead - throwing items not meant to be thrown (swords, rods, etc) was considered dishonorable - picking up a gun as a character with a projectile was dishonorable - attacking someone as tried to recover from offstage was tolerated but seen as a sign of low confidence in your skills -throwing items not meant to be thrown at someone offstage was more disrespectful than actually taunting them - each person had a main character - if you picked that character, you better be able to beat them at it or you would be heckled into choosing someone else (mine was Kirby) -these challenges only counted on the "fair" stages: star fox and zelda - if you go Chris stuck in a corner and were hitting him with a fan or fire flower and he couldn't move he'd start to rage out and swing his controller like a flail

Every time I see "Nuts and Bolts" I always read it as a sexual innuendo title until I remember that it was Ratchet and Clank that did those kinds of titles

There's a little voice in my head telling me I should get extremely into tekken 7. I haven't played a huge amount of Tekken but I've always had a lot of respect for it as being the fighting game that comes closest to actually representing two extremely skilled martial artists going at it. Although obviously at high levels you still get the jerky little footsie games.
