Thanks she really is. Gave birth in october finally got a doctor to listen to her about symptoms she was having and was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in November, had surgery (and then pumped in the recovery room so she could keep breastfeeding) and went back to work a few weeks ago. Going back to work was entirely her decision, the hospital told her she could stay out as long as she wants and she has time donated that would let her do it. But she wanted a return to a somewhat normal life this went back. Chemo is freaking brutal though and not sure if she can continue working.

Interesting fact though we learned at her first chemo session, there is a pretty severe saline shortage right now (thanks to Puerto Rico being one of the main suppliers) which I am sure won't cause problems if we do end up with a pandemic

So the whistleblowers were arrested in early January. They were trying to raise the alarm about an outbreak that was happening in, we can presume, mid to late December.

China didn't go "Oh gently caress!" and lock down cities until a few weeks later. "Official numbers" of cases and deaths didn't begin ballooning until late January. That's 4 to 6 weeks between initial detection of outbreak and poo poo going to hell badly enough for the Chinese government to start locking down like a quarter of the entire country.

Depends on what you mean by "we". It's been covered extensively in the Indian press but I don't think anyone had posted about it on this thread before. All of their Wuhan evacuees tested negative, BTW.

Also, Kerala isn't really remote compared to Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, etc.

it's a somewhat remote part of India but thanks to decades of rule by the communist party it also has some of India's best healthcare, which means this could be uhhhhhhh a very bad sign that there may be tens of thousands of potential cases across india that aren't being detected by regions with less comprehensive health systems
