I always feel weird about Jordan Peterson being described as sounding like Kermit, because so does my dad. And my dad is not a complete shitbag and also when his students told him he sounded like Kermit the Frog he was thrilled, because he always did love the Muppets. Also my dad is willing to eat a vegetable or a piece of tofu once in a while. He is a boomer, though.

PetraCore posted:I know you're making a joke but lmao no, romance novels are notoriously horny, even if some of them keep it firmly in the realm of procreative sex between married amish couples. I don't know if I'd go that far. Romance fiction does range from "sweet" to porny, but the formula in traditionally-published romance involves a monogamous commitment based on a profound connection between two main characters. Sometimes characters will decide "we're horny, we better screw and get it out of our systems," but if they haven't already caught feelings for each other by then, they will before long.

A thing that I, as an ally, would never say? Wouldn't you agree? Look, here's some more transphobia, transphobia that I, an ally would never do." I had a friend who used to do this all the time. It got to the point where I had to let her go because I was hearing more negative things that were not appropriate for my mental health than things that are good and genuine that lift me up. Like, I try to spend my life not seeing this kind of bullshit and here it is anyway. This is why trans people kill themselves. You can't escape it, even on forums that are supposed to be a "safe space" from this kind of discontent.
