One of my friends is a nurse in the uk and they had their first suspected case today. Weirdly the hospital with a tropical disease unit is just down the road but they admitted the patient to her place and some hazmat doctors appeared. Wonder if that’s easier than disinfecting an ambulance or what.

If the virus has spread enough that a cruise in the Caribbean (IIRC?) is risky, that means it's likely to have spread so far that you'd have to avoid a lot more than just a cruise to minimize risk.

I reckon you’ll be fine to be honest because if the situation carries on the way it is with quarantines it’ll make more financial sense for the cruise companies to cancel the holidays themselves. No way keeping people quarantined on their vessels isn’t costing them a lot of money so if it starts becoming the norm they’re just not going to risk it. And that’s wearing my pessimist hat where I assume the cruise company only gives a poo poo about money rather than the well-being of the passenger

Isn't that 3-5% ICU rate way lower than the rate from reported cases in China? I thought it was over 10%.
